My MA degree project is a banknote series for which I came up with a fictional currency, the Hungarian euro. The common side of each note features european animals, the other side shows related species of plants.
I used the original proportions of the existing euro banknote for my design, as the denomination increases, the size of each banknote is growing. The animals also represent the growth of value.

I designed and prepared five denomations of ten etchings, all etched in separate copperplates. This subtle and refined form of reproduction enabled me to imitate the original technique used during the production of banknotes, intaglio printing. My goal was to create a complete series with clear design, that transcends the tradition of banknote making.

Una marca para un restaurante italiano conceptual que se especializa en comida veneciana con un enfoque en mariscos. Polpo significa pulpo en italiano y es un alimento básico en la cocina veneciana y especialmente de la casa. Jugar con imágenes históricas que se usaron en los libros de texto antes de la invención de la fotografía creó un estilo de imagen lúdico en el contexto de este diseño moderno.

We created a name and a brand for an conceptual Italian restaurant that specializes in Venetian fare with a focus on seafood. Polpo means octopus in Italian and is a staple in Venetian cuisine and a specially of the house. Playing with historical images that were used in textbooks before the invention of photography created a playful image style in the context of this modern design.

La marca: Globbing es un libertador de estilo de vida que hace que todo lo que el mundo tiene para ofrecer fácilmente disponible. Se trata de un arranque radical en el área de compras, con sede en Estados Unidos y que opera en los mercados de Estados Unidos y Europa. Globbing, por primera vez, hace que las compras en línea en tiendas americanas o europeas sean una posibilidad viable para personas basadas en países donde las compras y las opciones tradicionales de envío son limitadas.
El proyecto: Fue una experiencia muy desafiante y emocionante. Dado que Globbing es un proyecto internacional con un perfil único y un impacto revolucionario en el mercado, ha requerido la participación de varios expertos internacionales en diferentes etapas. En cooperación con nuestros colegas de Estados Unidos, Maeutica creó un logotipo apoyado por un personaje corporativo: una jirafa, como parte de la identidad visual de la marca. La elección de esta mascota ilustró las oportunidades ilimitadas Globbing ofrece a sus clientes: la jirafa es un animal con una capacidad única de llegar a todo lo que quiere y hacer que las cosas fácilmente disponibles para los compradores. Aparte de ser parte de la identidad visual, la jirafa también permitió un amplio espacio para la gamificación y el uso funcional en el sitio web.

Central Deck and Arena project in Tampere, Finland is an urban scale development on top of existing railway tracks in the heart of the city. Designed by Studio Libeskind. The mixed-use program includes a multi-purpose ice hockey arena, four office blocks topped by residential towers and a hotel with residential condominiums on top.

The arena, which occupies one fifth of the complex, has the capacity to accommodate 11,000 fans. With its shopping arcade, bars and restaurant at deck level, the arena redefines its pivotal function as a hub for diverse urban activities. There is a total of approximately 60,000 m2 of mixed-use program area and 38,000 m2 of arena space, including a practice field and wellness center.

Analysis — Cioccolato is a pastry boutique specialized in custom deserts for special events. In the last couple of years, auteur pastries has grown considerably, which is why brand and product differentiation have become crucial factors for the success of a business.

Conceptualization — The main concept is derived from the already existing Cioccolato, and repositions the brand as a pastry and specialty services provider that caters to all occasions. The Bake & Decor descriptive is used to communicate the new attributes of the company’s work towards the rebranding project, without confusing Cioccolato´s current customer base.

Identity — We developed a sweet and festive visual identity that uses brightly colored elements and memorable phrases, which go well with any kind of special event.

Actions — Rebranding, visual identity, stationary, packaging, interior design.

The Science and Technology Park of University of Porto is a space for mutual leverage of skills between academia and businesses. Capable of creating an environment conductive to innovation and to the installation of technology-based and or creative businesses it is an outstanding example of how to bring academic knowledge and business closer together, through its strategy of sharing research findings and fostering local entrepreneurship. The project is spreading modern and structural change across the north of Portugal, demonstrating how active universities in previously poorer regions of Europe can lead the move to smart growth.

With the opening of the Innovation Center in Porto the building itself had to become the communication catalyst of UPTEC’s values. We created a signage system and tailored a communication strategy which expands beyond the walls to turn the Innovation Center into a landmark and communicate through the signage the aspects of research, experimentation and science. The initial hospital like corridors have become full of color and life through the invasive graphics across the space and the creation of illusion.
