🌟 Former Prime Minister Peter O'NEILL said to resign if his team Opposition VONC succeced against Current Government 🌟

Former Prime Minister and Member for Ialibu-Pangia, Peter O’Neill, has announced that he will retire from politics at the end of this term if the Opposition’s motion of no confidence against the current government succeeds. Throughout his time in office, Peter O’Neill played a major role in driving Papua New Guinea’s development agenda. His leadership saw significant investments in infrastructure, including roads, schools, and hospitals across the country. Under his government, PNG hosted the 2018 APEC Summit, which placed the nation on the global stage. He also introduced policies that supported free education and improved access to healthcare, aiming to ease the struggles of ordinary citizens.

O’Neill said he is not desperate to become Prime Minister again, stressing that what matters most is competent leadership that can deliver for the people of Papua New Guinea. He stated that he would gladly step aside tomorrow if the country is led by someone capable of managing its economy and improving the lives of its citizens.

His comments reflect his concern for the direction of the nation and his desire to see responsible, effective governance prevail over political ambition.

Yesterday the Speaker was dragged out of sick bed to nullify a VONC motion that was legally passed on the floor. He wrote to NEC that he was on sick leave.

Since he was sick, the Chief Justice had to stand in for him taking over the Governor General’s seat whilst the GC was on duty travels. However, he was forced by Marape to come out from his sick leave to denounce the VONC motion.

He’s really desecrated the Speaker’s position by succumbing to Marape’s coercion and “inducements” as pointed out by Hon Keith Iduhu.

This was made evident by the series of exchanges between Hon O’Niel and himself yesterday and today.
Our democracy is being hijacked by a desperate but incompetent tyrant whilst the rest sit silently enjoying their DSIPs!

TOK SAVE!

Hi there a very good morning to you all .

This is a request/appeal to you for a vote of recommendation from you all for the above ☝️ notice regarding the naming convention of the University of Goroka (UOG) Central Administration Building and Forum Square - To be called *Musawe Sinebare Building/Square*

Below is a brief background of Professor's contribution to the University for your information and awareness.

Please send your follow the deligence on the notice and send your recommendation/vote to the given email address: [email protected]

Brief background of Professor Musawe Sinebares service to the University of Goroka.

*1. Foundational Role in UOG’s Establishment*

Professor Musawe Sinebare was a pivotal figure during the transition of the former Goroka Teachers’ College to the University of Goroka in 1997, where he served as a teaching fellow at the time.

He was among the key orchestrators of the transformation process, helping lay the academic and administrative foundation upon which UOG continues to grow.

*2. Distinguished Leadership and Service*

He later served as Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) under the leadership of the late Dr. Mark Solon, during which period significant developments occurred, including the construction of the Dr. Mark Solon Auditorium and the UOG Library.

From 2004 to 2006, Professor Sinebare served as Vice-Chancellor, providing steady leadership in the university’s formative years.

In 2017, he was reappointed as Vice-Chancellor. Though he was subsequently removed under politically charged circumstances, later developments confirmed that the allegations of mismanagement or corruption were unfounded.

*3. Academic and Administrative Legacy*

Professor Sinebare is both a seasoned academic and an experienced administrator who devoted close to three decades of his professional career to the University of Goroka.

His commitment, reforms, and leadership have left a lasting impact on the institution, shapingup growth and standing as a leading teacher education university in Papua New Guinea.

Thank you all and appreciate your time and efforts.

A Champion Left Behind

This rooster was once worth hundreds of millions every time it won a fight. It had a roof over its head, food was always provided, and a special caretaker looked after it with pride. Each victory brought admiration, and many were drawn to this great rooster’s glory.

But when it lost, everything changed. It was left to sleep on the ground, ignored and forgotten.

Our lives are not so different. When we are successful, wealthy, and beneficial to others, people surround us with love, praise, and support. Yet, the moment we lose that success, when we are no longer useful, we are often cast aside, just like that rooster.

Life is uncertain. With money and triumph, we feel joy, admiration, and importance. But when hardship comes and we are stripped of those things, we may find ourselves alone and discarded.

Always remember:
Not everyone who laughs with you or cheers for you is truly your friend.

FINALLY THE POWER HOUSE MANGI CHUAVE HON.JN IS RECOGNIZED AS LEADER OF THE OPPOSITION

10 August 2025

In June 2025, 10 out of 18 MPs in the Opposition caucus endorsed my nomination as the Leader of the Opposition (“OL”). This was a natural ascension from my position as Deputy Leader of the Opposition (“DOL”) after the incumbent OL, Hon Douglas Tomuriesa, became leader of the People’s Progress Party (PPP) and reduced himself to a one-man party.

Mr. Tomuriesa did not relinquish the OL position and adopted legalese in defending his position speaking of an ambivalent “process”, notwithstanding the glaring fact that under the Westminster system of parliamentary democracy, majority rules!

On 29 July 2025, almost 2 months after I should have been the OL, the Speaker Hon Job Pomat, announced in Parliament that he would recognize Mr. Tomuriesa as the OL and Hon James Donald as the new DOL, further asking Opposition MPs to go back and settle the matter, again. Adhering to his letter, the majority of Opposition MPs wrote individually to the Speaker for him to recognize that I was the new OL for the second time.

On 8 August 2025, the Speaker was about to announce that I was the OL when Hon Brian Kramer interjected, erroneously citing that a legal process for the change of OL was prescribed in section 64 of the Organic Law on the Integrity of Political Parties and Candidates (OLIPPAC). Mr. Kramer's posturing was premature and frivolous to say the least. What was Mr. Kramer’s motive for interfering, knowing full well that he is another one-man party?

When the Hon Peter O’Neill clarified that parliamentary convention demands that the party with the largest numbers in either the government or opposition forms the leadership on either side of the aisle, the Speaker should have simply recognized the decision made by the majority of Members in the Opposition. This was met with resistance by a very vocal and reactive Prime Minister, Hon James Marape, who was in support of Mr. Tomuriesa. Why is the Prime Minister supporting Tomuriesa and going so low to play politics over my appointment as OL?

The Speaker buckled under the pressure of the Prime Minister and the superfluous interjection by Mr. Kramer. The one thing the Prime Minister, Mr. Tomuriesa and the Speaker have in common is they are all weak as water. It’s a crying shame! If the Speaker does not recognize that I am the legitimate Leader of the Opposition after two votes by Opposition Members showing majority support, then the National Court of Justice will. Mr. Tomuriesa can bring his numbers to court and elucidate on the bogus “process” he is relying on.

I will become the OL and I will take the Prime Minister Hon James Marape to task. No more word salads, no more blabbering, no misfires, no compromise. I invite Mr. Tomuriesa to stop pretending and take his seat on the government side and watch me fight the good fight for the people of Papua New Guinea. Mr. Tomuriesa has lost the legitimacy and support of the majority of MPs in Opposition and cannot be holding himself out as the OL.
