Rooted in Godโs love
February reminds us that love is more than grand gestures, flowers, or sweet captions.
In 1 Corinthians 13:4โ7, Scripture teaches us: โLove is patient; love is kind; love is not envious or boastful or arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice in wrongdoing, but rejoices in the truth.โ
This kind of love is not rooted in feelings aloneโit is a reflection of Christโs character in us.
God calls us to live out this love daily. When we choose patience instead of anger, kindness instead of pride, humility instead of selfishness, we mirror the heart of Jesus. It is through the Holy Spirit that we are able to forgive, release resentment, and rejoice in truth even when it is difficult. Love is choosing patience when someone disappoints you, responding with kindness instead of pride, and setting aside selfishness to understand others. It means staying calm during misunderstandings, letting go of resentment, and standing firm in truth even when itโs uncomfortable. Christโs love teaches us to serve, to sacrifice, and to remain faithful in both easy and challenging seasons.
And as we celebrate love month, may we ask the Lord to shape our hearts to love the way He lovesโpure, steadfast, and sincere. May our relationships glorify Him, and may our lives be a testimony of His unfailing love. May we not only speak about loveโbut live it out faithfully each day.
