Watching Kaye Abad share her breast cancer journey was heartbreaking and eye-opening at the same time.
She looked okay.
She sounded okay.
She kept smiling.
Yet behind all of that, she was quietly fighting one of the hardest battles of her life. And that’s the scary part about illnesses like this — not every struggle is visible.
Her story is also a reminder of how important early detection really is. A mammogram helped save her life, but sadly, not everyone has access to regular screenings, specialists, or proper healthcare because of financial struggles.
Many Filipinos want to get checked early, but reality gets in the way. Bills come first. Daily needs come first. And sometimes, people are forced to ignore symptoms because treatment itself is already too expensive.
Health should never feel like a privilege.
Hopefully, stories like this encourage more people to listen to their bodies, do regular self-checks, and seek medical help whenever possible. Respect and prayers for Kaye Abad for bravely sharing her journey. Stories like hers create awareness and remind people that they are not alone. 🤍
