While promoting an event's safety precautions is important📣, it's even more crucial that the experience takes center stage in the content marketing leading up to the event.💯 A higher frequency of content promotion is needed for virtual events closer to the event date.📅 Virtual events have a far lower success rate since they are more easily canceled🙅🏻‍♂️ and more likely to be forgotten, whereas travel arrangements✈️and other scheduling factors for physical events often assure that the majority of attendees will actually attend in-person events. Therefore, it is crucial to send out regular reminders via email 📩 and social media in the days before the event. In order to debunk the misconception that there is no sense in attending an event if you can't attend in person, content marketing should demonstrate consistency in the quality of the experience between in-person and online viewers. 🖥 The quality of the experience should therefore be highlighted in content marketing for virtual attendees, with promises of a sense of community, studio-quality audiovisuals, and opportunities for more personal networking👯‍♀️that are frequently overlooked in the solitary nature of virtual attendance.

"Fortunately for the event industry, demand for their products and services never went away.🤩 Consumers’ preference for gathering at sporting events,🏈 concerts, and celebrations🎉didn’t wane, it was just put on temporary hold. Attitudes toward gathering varied, and even during the pandemic,😷 some consumers pretty well always felt comfortable mingling in public settings and crowds.

Most eligible consumers got their vaccine💉and then went rushing off to do the things they most missed. They traveled, ✈️ went to see live music and sports, and attended family gatherings👨‍👩‍👧‍👦and events. Even better for event professionals, their customers came back flush with all the cash💰they hadn’t been able to spend for a year.

According to food service insights company, Technomic, spending on food and beverage in July 2021 was higher than it was pre-pandemic in July 2019. This comeback certainly doesn’t mean we’ll be returning to previous norms. Some changes may actually be for the better.💯"

During last winter’s❄️Frieze LA art fair, the Spring/Break Art Show satellite event partnered with Skylight Studios to find “exhibition-atypical locales,” including a 30,000-sq.-ft. former factory 🏭 in Culver City that hosted 50 immersive installations during Frieze’s weekend-long run. Among the participants was Search Party star Alia Shawkat, who created new art pieces live in a “working studio” alongside childhood pal and artist Maria Gajardo. Musician 🎼and cultural curator David Byrne presented “an entirely new form of theater” when his latest show, “Theater of the Mind,” opened in Denver’s York Street Yards last Aug. 31. As various countries🌍slowly begin to reopen their establishments and reconvene in public spaces, hybrid events, which may be attended in person as well as online, are likely to become more popular.👏 In use by large companies🏢 and other businesses well before the outbreak,🦠hybrid events combine the best of both online and digital worlds—meaning they require twice as much preparation. While the number of in-person attendees remains relatively small, there’s no limit to number of registrants, and (depending on your infrastructure’s capacity) a potentially much higher number of (extra) participants.⬆️ After more time passes, i.e. Phase 3 and onward, online and hybrid events are likely to remain, but in-person events may begin to resume with a view to being held “safely”. ⛑ Some of the safety measures event managers are looking at putting in place include:
✅ Limiting the number of attendees
✅Limiting attendees to a certain geographical area
✅Limiting the duration of the event
✅Choosing open-air venues or venues with more space

It’s not just consumers who are hungry for live events to get going again 🤩, brands are also excited to renovate their event planning strategies, but this excitement comes with a hefty dose of trepidation, too.🧐 What’s stopping brands from putting events together?🚫 Safety, is, of course, the main concern. Consumers need to know that the events they’re attending are as safe as possible. This means a level of operational rigor that many brands aren’t ready to go through, such as implementing mask mandates😷, verifying vaccine cards, requiring new testing regimens and protocols, and more. That’s why nearly two-thirds of live meetings were delayed or canceled in the fall of 2021.😢 However, that statistic shows signs of improvement.✅ Fewer planners are delaying their events indefinitely, and many are committed to hosting in-person events in 2022 (and are beginning to plan in earnest) 👍🏼. The B2B exhibit industry cancellation rate: Q4 of 2020 - 97.9% Q4 of 2021 - 12.5% What does this tell us? People are ready to be back at live events!💪 But, hold on...the last two years have forever changed how attendees view events and the ROI standards for event marketing are higher than ever before ⬆️ . The pandemic forced a lot of companies to stop and assess their event marketing habits 😷.
