These are my 2020 Logo Concepts

It may have been a tough year but I was blessed with supportive people who had my back in this struggling pursuit for a creative career.

There have been numerous bumps here and there, yet I'm grateful for all the opportunities to grow and still earn despite this difficult circumstance we're all in.

Living by my brand, I advocated in improving my craft to be able to serve small businesses in scaling their works through my design.

These are few of my works that I'm very proud to share with all of you. Most of these are concept logos, thus, they are not paid - yet they are very much up for grabs for the owners if they're vibing my work.

The point of this series is to show and inspire local businesses to recognize their potential to compete and grow themselves exponentially through good design.

This is just the start of Puso Design Co., expect more applications for this coming year.

Concept Work for Grace Remonde's Cakes & Pastries Business 🍰

Grace Remonde is a self-taught baker making cakes and other desserts for Argawanons for a very long time. She is one of the OG bakers in town. 😂 Over the years, she slowly grew her craft and enhanced her products. As the sole BREAD-winner for her family, she puts hard work and passion into every cake she makes. 💕

For this design, I decided her brand name to be "Grasya", a famous bisaya word which literally means Grace. Grasya is commonly associated with food. As something we, Filipinos, culturally respect highly.

I even made a tagline that says, " Di mabalibaran as Kalami".

This is inspired from the usual saying we hear associated with "Grasya":

Ang Grasya Dili Balibaran.

Og tuod mn, dili gyud siya mabalibaran sa kalami.

Concept work for Outdoor 88 | Outdoor 88 🚵‍♀️🏔

Outdoor 88 is a local sports and gear shop here in Argao, Cebu. They provide products for diving, cycling, hiking, trekking, and other adventurous outdoor activities. This is one of the few shops in Argao who has been influential in cultivating sports such as Free Diving, Spearfishing, and Biking.

I personally love these types of shops. It slightly reminds me of the "Mystery Shack" of Gravity Falls. A shop that radiates excitement and adventure.

This design tried to capture the outdoor apparel style we can feel from brands such as Patagonia and Northface. I also tried to incorporate the "88" inside the type as a reflection of the two "letter O's" by exhibiting that you can only see it when you go outdoors. Also, the O's double as bike wheels 🚲 while the wavy lines resemble the water. 🌊

This was a fun exploration as this is the type of style I've always wanted to project for Puso Design Co. in the future. ☺

This is a concept work I made for BosyoWorks.

Bosyoworks, is one of the oldest repair shop in Argao. As many repair shops, this is ran with awesome self-taught mechanics.

Just recently, they started offering affordable motorcycle customization such as the famous "Cafe Racer-style".

This logo is designed to somehow elicit a vintage vibe yet catching up with the minimalist look of modern design.

The symbol forms someone riding a motorycle whilst using the letters B & W. Furthering the minimalist yet adventurous look of the brand as they are also emphasising their shop as casual and friendly - with people you can ride with. 🏍️

Bosyoworks will work and have worked for years.

Here's another breakdown of what brand is - or what brand is not! 🤔

Branding is now becoming a trend. Not surprising though given that our preferences have shifted solely from product quality into story quality.

We look beyond the face value. We are now more into products that have attitudes. Something we can connect to.

That's why it's really important for business owners or for creators to mold their brand in a way that truly expresses and caters to the needs of the customers.

May it be a company brand or a personal brand, a brand is all about people relating to stories.

Want to make your design more effective?

Let's delve into the psychology of design and talk about how human limitations can affect how we process design.

According to Hick's Law in Psychology, the more stimuli or information a user is facing, the longer it takes to make a decision.

Considering this, a phenomenon called, "Grandparent-friendly Remote Control" was innovated. It is a makeshift of a TV remote control wrapped with a paper covering unimportant buttons making it easier for less tech-savvy older people to operate the device.

Also, more and more designers have been applying this concept to their product and web design. Partly, this is one of the reasons why minimalist became a trend in this information-loaded world we are living in.

To help avoid the capacity load excess, it's best to map out goals and design your way with that goal in mind. Trash out unnecessary details and ✨ believe me✨ your design will work wonders.
