Home Based Studio is an independent multimedia design team highly skilled in digital animation, illustration, apparel and graphic design. What started out as conversational fodder between four Fine Arts graduates from the University of the Philippines is now a full blown project banking on creative talents found right here on our southern shores for local and international audiences. aesthetics and general flair for cheekiness, coupled with our years of experience in the animation and illustration industry, will deliver a knockout spin for all our clients’ conceptual needs. Kanu is a visual artist, currently based in Negros Island. Inspired by the streets of Cebu City in 2015, he started doing street art on the streets of the city. He enjoys creating different characters based on the current state of emotion. Mainly Kanu’s works reflects on his surroundings and memories that happened and did not happened. Also lowbrow animations and classic cartoon shows are one of the inspirations of his style. Now he is currently to focus and explore on his new character.

Kanu is currently here at the gallery for his month long art residency. Catch his solo show on March 7, 2026.
