USLS conducts Korean Language Program with Kyungpook National University
The University of St. La Salle (USLS), in partnership with Kyungpook National University (KNU), conducted a Korean Language Program from May 11 to 22, 2026, at Cody Hall. The program brought together high school and college students, faculty, and staff interested in learning the Korean language.
As part of the continuing partnership between USLS and KNU, the initiative supports efforts to expand international learning opportunities and strengthen cross-cultural engagement within the Lasallian community.
Throughout the program, participants attended six-hour daily sessions focused on developing foundational communication skills in Korean through speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
Lessons introduced beginner-level Korean through practical conversations, everyday vocabulary, and common expressions while also providing insights into Korean customs, etiquette, and daily life.
The sessions utilized “Everyday Korean for International Students’ Families”, a course textbook developed through the Daegu Regional Innovation System & Education (RISE) Project, a South Korean initiative that promotes regional development through collaboration among universities, local governments, and industries.
Pair work and small group activities were also incorporated to encourage active participation and practical language use in classroom settings.
Reflecting USLS’ continued commitment to internationalization and global learning, the Korean Language Program provided participants with opportunities to engage with both language and culture.
