Hiking is not a competition.

For me, it's about inviting a lonely friend to hike a mountain to make her feel better, smiling at each other despite the trail's challenges, and sharing food during rest stops. It's about forgetting our status in life and focusing on our friendship and the excitement of reaching our destination. Hiking humbles us as we tackle more mountains, appreciating the beauty of nature rather than showing off. It's about sharing life lessons and making friends with strangers. We hug each other when we're almost done hiking, and we wait together for the beautiful sunset, sunrise, and sea of clouds. It's about respecting fellow hikers and understanding our responsibility to the environment. Hiking is a beautiful and fulfilling experience that, even as time passes, you can tell anyone about, and you will never forget.
