Rosan Will Still Be Open and Stick to it's Original Schedule
Monday-Friday 8am-7pm
πππ©ππ¦π’π₯π¬ | In support of national energy conservation efforts amid ongoing crises in the Middle East, Visayas State University will implement protocols and operational adjustments to conserve energy while ensuring the continuity of services, effective tomorrow, March 10, 2026.
Regular class schedules for undergraduate, graduate, NSTP, and Saturday classes will stay the same. Friday classes will be delivered online through asynchronous learning, except for activities that need to be done in person, such as laboratory sessions with specialized equipment or thesis and research work that need physical presence.
Faculty will work on campus from Monday to Thursday and conduct remote teaching on Fridays, except for lab classes that require in-person interaction. Administrative staff will work on-site Monday to Thursday from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with the option to work remotely on Friday if their tasks allow and their office head approves. Fridays will generally be a day off for nonessential personnel, while essential staff, such as security, health, maintenance, laboratory support, and caretakers will continue their duties to maintain operational continuity.
Student organizations are advised not to hold activities on Fridays to help the University save energy. At the same time, the University will continue fully implementing the Government Energy Management Program (GEMP), ensuring that offices, housing units, and income-generating facilities turn off unused lights and equipment, maximize natural daylight, use energy-efficient devices, manage air conditioning between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM, and operate water heating devices responsibly.
Official meetings should be conducted virtually whenever possible, official travel minimized, and fleet operations optimized for fuel efficiency. Security personnel will monitor compliance, and monthly electricity and fuel reports will be submitted for review to ensure continuous improvement.
This advisory is issued in accordance with Memorandum Circular No. 75, series of 2026, issued by the Office of the President.
