Butterflies, these magical creatures are also highly symbolic. The intricate wings are said to represent freedom, change, and rebirth, while the different colors and patterns symbolize diversity, individuality, and beauty. Butterflies are thus seen as symbols of transformation and growth and have long been used in decoration and art. They can be created into a wide range of products, including jewelry and decorations for home or office settings, ornaments for gardens or parks, or even handicrafts such as bags or coasters. 🦋

Butterfly farming is one of the known industries in the province of Marinduque. There are some farms that mostly focus on raising butterflies, breeding butterflies, and conserving their habitat. Butterfly farms supply butterflies for planned releases, zoological parks, and butterfly gardens, and they can be found in many regions of the world. While some are able to sell for release on occasions and events like weddings, debuts, funerals, or even in-store openings. Hence, the province of Marinduque is known as the Butterfly Capital of the Philippines. 🦋

Butterfly clocks are handmade products from the farm also, those butterflies are already preserved and carefully mounted to the frames. Our client has many services to offer like customized and personalized for your souvenirs and home décor.

If you like to have this colorful clock, you can purchase it at https://mdqhandicraftsatbp.com/ourproducts/

The pottery business is a business venture in which people make and sell pottery items. It can involve people who make pottery themselves, or it can involve people who purchase clay and then process it into finished products. There are several different ways that people can go about starting their own pottery business. 🏺

Here in Marinduque, there is a well-known pottery business that was started in 1985 by Mr. Rufino Gabisan. Gabisan pottery is located at Barangay Poctoy Torrijos Marinduque, it produces clay pots and brickworks, and other handmade pots. They offer personalized or customized products. They also sell pots that are already full furnish and painted already, but the price varies, still depending on the sizes of pots ordered. 🏺

The Brand logo is the most important element of a brand because it serves as the visual representation of a company or organization. A well-designed brand logo will help customers identify and connect with your business. A well-designed logo should consist of several key components: The shape of the logo - This should be both memorable and instantly recognizable.
The color scheme - While certain colors are more popular than others, there's no set rule for what colors to use in your logo design. The best thing you can do is choose colors that are aesthetically pleasing to the eye.
The typeface - When designing a logo, it's important to choose a suitable typeface that complements your brand image and overall aesthetic. ✨

Like the logo of the MDQ Handicrafts atbp., we use two (2) logos for us to recognize more and to be branded. We use 5 color brands that are related to aesthetic and native products and 2 fonts for the branding. 😃

MDQ is an abbreviation for Marinduque. The logo indicates the Morion costume, which our province was known for Moriones Festival.

Coco Jam or Coconut Jam 🥥
it is a Filipino spread or jam made from coconut milk/cream and brown sugar. These two ingredients are well-mixed to balanced the taste of the coconut and the sweetness. Its thickness and intense flavors are perfect with your favorite bread, like Pandesal, or a slice of toast as a morning or afternoon snack.

Ingredients 🥥
1. Coconut cream
2. Brown Sugar

How to cook
1. Use a non-stick saucepan, bring over medium heat, and combine coconut cream and brown sugar. Bring to a boil, stirring frequently until sugar is dissolved and the mixture is well-blended.
2. When the mixture has come to a boil, promptly reduce heat to low and continue to cook, stirring frequently, until the color darkens and the mixture is very thick but spreadable.
3. Transfer jam to clean jars. Don't close the lid right away.

Tips
1. Do not overcook the jam or it will turn bitter. Remove from heat once it turns thick but still supple. It will thicken as it cools down.
2. To prevent lumps from forming, make sure to stir the mixture consistently as it simmers so the heat is evenly distributed.
3. To check for doneness, drop a teaspoonful into a bowl of cold water. If the mixture forms a soft ball in the cold water but flattens when removed, it is ready.
4. Make sure to sterilize the jars you will be using.

How to store
1. Store it in a cool, dry place.
2. Do not refrigerate an opened jar of coconut jam or it will be difficult to spread.
3. Just leave it at room temperature and it should be fine for days or even a week or two.

This item is made of stones and coconut shells. The Morion miniature head, body, and hands were made of stones while the stand or its feet is from coconut shells. Choosing the right stones or pebbles is the first thing to consider, it should be fine and polished, then construct to glue the head to the stand. After polishing, it was painted using acrylic paint. Since the Morion is ideally very colorful, the miniature should be in the right colors and colorful, of course.

Moreover, crafts made with pebbles, stones, or even coconut shells are usually friendly to both adults and kids, making them a lot of fun for anyone in the family, or everyone together. There are many kinds of stuff that we can do with pebbles, stones, and coconut shells. Some can be carved and embossed the stones, while some can paint and make an art of it. 🪨 🎨🖌️ Visit our website and check to avail our products at https://mdqhandicraftsatbp.com/ourproducts/

What is Nito Plant? 🤔

Nito vine or lygodium circinatum is a plant belonging to the fern family that grows abundantly in many parts of the country. This plant has also a high medicinal value used by indigenous communities to cure wounds and wild animal bites. Its leaves, stems, and roots can be applied to wounds and other skin ailments for their antibacterial properties and could be also used as an anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and insect repellant.

Here in the province, the Nito plant has a great role in our native and local peoples, they use nito for handicrafts such as the Nito plate, Bags, hats, placemats, trays, storage organizers, and other decorative products. 🧺

Like the Binwa Women from the Bintakay, Mogpog. Nito plant is the main ingredient in their products. Weavers used this plant because it is easy to weave. Its vines are “split” into thinner more flexible strips, which are then used to tie or weave the vines into the finished product.

What is the most popular product we have? 🤔

As per the survey, the most common favorite to purchase is Pasalubong products like special delicacies, keychains, and handmade products in the province.

When you visit the province and your vacation ends, don't forget to visit and shop some boutiques and souvenir shops at Boac. They have lots of products to offer, most of them are handmade products, and delicacies like the famous Arrowroot Cookies and Banana Chips. Handmade products like Butterfly clocks, butterfly frames keychains, Morion miniature made from stone and coconut shells, and morion masks. But we highly recommend that should be tasted in the province or be bought are the Kakanins of Marinduque. The locals are selling Bibingka, Suman, P**o, and Cochinta, that is very delicious, and take this opportunity to buy the Homemade Pansit of Mogpog, Sta. Cruz and Boac.

Is it real or not? Is it fake? Is it plastic?

The butterflies in this product are REAL butterflies. These butterflies had been taken care of and had their places, but the given lifespan of the butterflies only lasted two to four weeks. Thus, the butterflies that are inserted in this clock or other frames are already preserved and mounted. 🦋

Marinduque is one of the provinces that supplies pupae and butterflies, it is well known as the "Butterfly Capital of the Philippines". Boac and Gasan are the municipalities that prevent and can pursue Butterfly farming here in the province. 🦋

Butterflies are often a symbol of freedom and also a sign of resurrection and a miracle of transformation. Hence, Marinduque's Butterfly farms offer strong, friendly, colorful, and cheerful butterflies for release at events such as weddings, birthdays, debuts, anniversaries, company openings, contest props, funerals, and many more. They are also open to exporting the butterflies. 🦋
