“Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So do not be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.”

How about me God?
Have you forgotten me?
When prayers of the people around us have been answered by the Lord, we sometimes think that He has missed out in giving ours. We ask Him when we will experience the realization of the things we have been praying for. And because it has not happened yet to us, we feel that we are a lesser person and we question ourselves if God really sees what’s inside our hearts or if God really hears our prayers.
Sparrows are small birds mentioned in the book of Luke, Matthew and Psalms. They are tiny little creatures which cost a penny during those days (2 sparrows:1 penny). Cheap isn’t it? And maybe neglected and unnoticed too. But here’s the truth: NOT ONE OF THEM IS FORGOTTEN BY GOD.
Wow. Those things that do not matter to many, matters to Him. That even people look at them with so little value, God looks at them in a much different way.
And here comes another truth: YOU ARE WORTH MORE THAN MANY SPARROWS.
You. That person who feels forgotten and unseen.
You. Who feels small to some and rejected by many.
You. Who is still waiting for His promises to come.
He is watching over you. And this same God cares for you too.
For He is not just the God of the big, but the God of the littlest things too.
The little things you think do not matter but He values much because it concerns you.
My prayer for today is that may you never forget that He knows you in a very intimate way. From the big things that you are believing for, down to the numbers of your hair which you don’t even count.
What matters to you, matter to Him.
And the One who created you, will never forget you.
He is faithful.
