The government has downgrades the quarantine classification over Metro Manila and four of its adjacent provinces to a less stringent modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) starting Monday, April 12 , Presidential spokesman Harry Roque says.

Roque says the MECQ period in Metro Manila, Cavite, Bulacan, Laguna and Rizal will end on April 30.

DOH secretary Francisco Doque III announces that the new COVID-19 variant has been detected here in the Philippines.

The said patient is a Male from Quezon City who departed for Dubai on the 27th of December 2020 for buisness purposes.

The DOH reiterates its call to our national government agencies, local government units and the public for stricter implementation of quarantine protocols to further mitigate the risk of acquiring the virus.

Philippines bans all flights from the United Kingdom from Dec. 24-31, 2020

All UK flights to PH suspended starting December 24

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte approved on Tuesday night, December 22, 2020, the temporary suspension of all flights from the United Kingdom (UK) starting December 24, 2020, 12:01AM until December 31, 2020.

All passengers who have been in the UK within fourteen (14) days immediately preceding arrival to the Philippines, including those merely in transit, are also temporarily restricted from entering the country for the same period.

On the other hand, passengers already in transit from the UK and all those who have been to the UK within 14 days immediately preceding arrival to the Philippines, who arrive before 12:01AM of December 24, 2020, shall not be subject to entry restriction but they would be required to undergo stricter quarantine and testing protocols.

Such protocols include the observation of an absolute fourteen (14)-day quarantine period at the Athlete’s Village in the New Clark City, notwithstanding a negative RT-PCT test result.

Outbound travel to the UK shall likewise be subject to the existing exit protocols of the Philippines and the UK.

JUST IN: A video showed that a Parañaque City police officer brutally shot two unarmed individuals at Brgy. Cabayaoasan, Paniqui, Tarlac around 5:10 PM yesterday, Youth UNBOUND-Southern Tagalog says.

Anakbayan reported that the victims were 52-year-old Sona Anthony Rufino, and her 25-year-old son Frank Anthony Gregorio Rufino, with the officer in question allegedly being PCPL Junel Nuesca.
