So, I have a backstory on why I started running. I was struggling with anxiety and felt like I was going through depression. I gained a lot of weight, overthought everything, and was always filled with negative thoughts. I started to really feel sorry for myself, and I knew I had to do something about it, I had to pull myself out of that situation.
At first, I began by walking every day for 1 to 2 hours. Eventually, I started to combine walking and running. I made it a habit to do this activity 5 days a week because it’s been helping me stay mentally healthy. I noticed that as I trained my mind through running, it really helped improve my mental health.
Slowly, I also developed the willpower to start cutting down my meals. I’m not super slim yet, but I feel much lighter now physically and mentally. I realized that we really do need to condition our minds through exercise or sweating it out to balance our desire to eat healthy and go on a diet.
So to anyone who’s feeling depressed or struggling with anxiety...start moving, start sweating, or go for a run.
