Drax

Like his Guardians teammate Gamora, the MCU’s Drax the Destroyer is significantly weaker than the comic iteration. In Marvel’s mainstream comics, Drax was once a human, and his superpowers are tailored specifically to kill Thanos. Not only is the MCU version of Drax missing many of his comic counterpart’s powers (such as telepathy and energy blasts), but his strength and durability are also far less impressive, making him hardly a match for Thanos or even Iron Man’s Mark 50 energy canons.

Quicksilver

Although Quicksilver’s cinematic counterpart in the Fox X-Men franchise has powers far closer to the comics, the MCU’s Quicksilver, who is no longer the son of Magneto, is far less impressive. The MCU’s Quicksilver retains his signature power of superhuman speed, but his reflexes pale in comparison to his comic counterpart’s. The MCU’s Quicksilver dies from multiple bullet wounds in Avengers: Age of Ultron, while dodging automatic gunfire is a trivial feat for the Quicksilver of Earth-616, who can move faster than radio waves and is thus faster than light. In Marvel’s mainstream comics, Quicksilver has dodged gunfire on countless occasions and can even dodge Thor’s lightning.

Gamora

Gamora is said to be the “deadliest woman in the galaxy” in her MCU Guardians of the Galaxy debut, but she hardly compares to the Gamora of the comics. While the MCU’s Gamora is by no means weak, her powers are not consistent, with her superhuman strength allowing her to hold the canon of a Ravager M-Ship, but her durability and healing factor (which should be equally impressive) fail her in Avengers: Infinity War, where she dies upon being thrown off a cliff by Thanos. In the comics, Gamora has survived falls from space to a planet’s surface and could defeat entire armies of humanoids in minutes with little difficulty.
