How I turned a $50 budget into $29k in Google ads. Here's what I did:

1. Setup TOF Campaign: Reached a broad audience to gain new people and potential customers.

> Search Ads Campaign Setup: Targeted locations where the brand gains the most traffic.
> Broad Audience Targeting: Adjusted age demographics based on the brand's typical customer profile.
> Keyword Strategy: Used both phrase and broad match keywords for testing.

Here are some helpful tips that many overlook most of the time:

📍 Location & Targeting: If your target location is small, keep your audience broad. But what you should do is focus on your ad copy and creatives. Meta is smarter now than before; it knows who will resonate with your ad copies and creatives. If you can still remember the time when you had to be super detailed with interests, demographics, the 20% text on images, etc., you know how tough testing used to be.

🔍 Account Audit: Before you set up a campaign, audit the page. There is more to it than meets the eye. You'll be surprised by how much data there is on the page that can help you kickstart the campaign easily. Check if the pixel is installed properly and do a test. Also, set up offline tracking if necessary.

🛣️ Page Navigations & CTA: Check all necessary navigation on your client's page. Display only what is necessary, such as reviews. Display the necessary buttons, like "Shop Now" for the website, etc.

👥 Audience Guide: Know when to exclude audiences. Thus, a proper funnel setup is a must; to create remarketing audiences. Not all audiences have the same interest, and we all should know this.

🎨 Creative Wise: When using video creatives, keep them as organic or close to organic as possible, but pack them with all the details that a customer needs to know. Don't forget the hook, FOMO (urgency) to buy the products or avail of a service, and its CTA.

💰 Products & Offers: Check the product (if it's e-commerce and selling some goods) and see what their pricing position is in the market. Offer promotions such as discounts, upsell, downsell, or cross-selling if feasible. Discuss with the owner. For services, use promotional offers like discounts, etc.

🖥️ Website & Landing Page: Make sure landing pages, i.e., the homepage, product page, and categories, are mobile-optimized, easy to navigate, and understand. Keep them simple and direct.

These are just some of the aspects that need to be looked at as a media buyer. Our job doesn't stop at the ads manager; we have to go beyond that. I hope this helps. 🙂

I always tell my boss, especially when onboarding a new client and they want me to audit the brand or the account, that it's wise not to put all our eggs in one basket. For this particular client, they were solely relying on Facebook ads. Although they had tried Google ads before, they admitted it hadn't been successful. After auditing their account, I presented them with a strategic plan for Google Ads. They approved it, and voila!
