Clippers clobber Kings, end three-game slideThe Los Angeles Clippers continued their mastery of the Sacramento Kings in the California capital on Wednesday night, riding Eric Bledsoe's 19 points to a 105-89 victory.

Paul George and Serge Ibaka chipped in with 17 points apiece for the Clippers, who have beaten the Kings in Sacramento on 16 times of their past 17 attempts.

Manila continues donation drive to help victims of Typhoon OdetteMANILA, Philippines--The local official spearheading the City of Manila's relief efforts has appealed for more donations among city residents as there are still areas in the Visayas and Northern Mindanao yet to get any help days after Typhoon Odette barreled its way across several provinces last week.

QC now considered ‘very low risk’ for COVID-19; average weekly cases down to 200 — OctaMANILA, Philippines --- TheOCTA Research Group now considers Quezon City to be "very low risk" for COVID-19, with active cases just averaging below 200 per week.

In the latest report of OCTA from December 14 to 20, the average daily new cases per day in Quezon City is now at 15, down from 20 cases the previous week.

The reproduction number is at .36 while the average daily attack rate per 100,000 population is .47. The positivity rate is also down to .83% from 1.10% last week.

SB19 teams up with Korean producer Ohwon Lee for song ‘Love Yours’SB19 has worked once again with South Korean music producer Ohwon Lee for their new collaboration "Love Yours."

The P-pop group's song with Lee, released on the producer's YouTube channel yesterday, Dec. 22, features gentle tinkling beats, relaxed raps and an upbeat chorus. It also has hopeful lyrics that talk about loving one's self.

"Love yours, love yours / Doubt will keep you down / Love yours, so you won't drown, no," the group sang.

This is the second time that Lee and SB19 have worked together on a project. Lee previously composed and arranged the group's song "Go Up" back in 2019.

2022 opening salvo: Gov’t to incur P200B in new debts in JanuaryMANILA, Philippines---The Bureau of the Treasury will borrow P200 billion from the domestic debt market in January 2022, with the usual weekly auction volumes to be resumed after slowing down on borrowings this month.

In a Dec. 21 memorandum to all government securities eligible dealers (GSEDs), National Treasurer Rosalia de Leon said the Treasury will auction off P15 billion in T-bills -- P5 billion each in the benchmark 91-, 182- and 364-day IOUs -- on Jan. 3, 10, 17 and 24, 2022.

The Treasury will also raise P35 billion a week during the T-bond auctions scheduled on the four Tuesdays of January.

End-October infra spending up 38.1 percent to P702.4-BMANILA, Philippines---Public infrastructure spending climbed by nearly four-fifths to P702.4 billion as of end-October as the government continued work on roads and airport projects, the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) said on Thursday (Dec. 23).

In a report, the DBM said expenditures on infrastructure and other capital outlays from January to October grew 38.1 percent from P508.5 billion a year ago.

Man behind Davao City bomb threat nabbedDAVAO CITY----Police arrested Wednesday a man believed to be behind a letter left near a city government-owned vehicle, threatening to explode a bomb at City Hall.

City Police Director Kirby John Kraft said the suspect, identified through a close circuit camera television footage, admitted having asked a 15-year old girl to write the letter which he left near a city government-owned vehicle parked in front of City Hall.

Kraft did not name the suspect but said the CCTV footage led the police to his house.

Lopez Jaena town Mayor Michael Gutierrez was hit in the left temple, and the slug exited his nape, according to an incident report of Major Gerard Paul Duran, officer-in-charge of the Tangub City police station.

The shooting happened around 8:45 p.m. while Gutierrez attended a Christmas fellowship party hosted by outgoing Misamis Occidental Rep. Henry Oaminal, who is running for governor in 2022.
