“Now may be a good time to evaluate your scripture study habits. What’s going well? What do you feel inspired to do to have more meaningful experiences with the word of God?”

This week’s lesson really had me reflecting.

The past two weeks have been one of the lowest points of my year. I faced challenges I did not expect, and I thought I was doing okay in my faith, family, and work. But the Lord works in ways I don’t always understand.

I found myself questioning a lot, why things were happening, and even doubting as I searched for answers.

On May 12, I took a leave from work because I felt a deep need for healing and peace. That day, my husband, son, and I went to the temple. I was desperately seeking spiritual healing the way someone who is sick physically and needs urgent medical attention.

The answers did not come right away. But as I kept praying, studying, and searching the scriptures, I came across that same question again about my scripture study habits.

And it clicked.

I realized I had not been as consistent or intentional in my scripture study. I had become comfortable and slowly drifted from truly feasting on the word of God.

I am still in the middle of these challenges, but I feel that the Lord is lovingly calling me back to the basics. He is reminding me to draw nearer to Him daily through prayer, scripture study, and sincere faith in Jesus Christ.

The scriptures are truly a source of strength, peace, guidance, and personal revelation. They help us endure our trials, teach us all things that we should do, and lead us closer to the Savior. I know that as I recommit myself to daily scripture study, the Lord will continue to strengthen and sustain me through every challenge I face.

Maybe this is also a reminder for someone else who has been struggling quietly like me. Sometimes the answer is not found in something grand, but in returning to the simple things the Lord has always asked us to do. There is power in the word of God, and I know that as we faithfully seek Him, He will heal us, guide us, and carry us through.

Because He lives, I get to be a mother 🤍

One of the happiest truths I know is that because of Jesus Christ, families can be eternal. Motherhood isn’t just for this life.

Through Jesus Christ, I’m becoming the mother I’m trying to be, one imperfect, but grace-filled day at a time. ✨

Early this year, I came to His house. I knew it wasn’t open, yet I still came knocking—quietly in my heart—yearning to feel His presence and understand more about my purpose.

Today, as the Davao Temple will finally be dedicated, I felt prompted to learn the meaning of my name. And amazingly, it felt so aligned with who I am and who I’m striving to become.

Abegail is a variant of Abigail, from the Hebrew name Avigayil (אֲבִיגַיִל), meaning “my father’s joy” or “source of joy.” In the Bible, Abigail is known for her wisdom, grace, and strength of character. A name that carries a reminder to bring joy, to live with compassion, and to walk with quiet strength.

I pray I can truly live up to that—to bring Him joy. My heart feels so full and excited, knowing that today, the Davao Temple will finally be dedicated. 🤍
