GUESS WHO’S BACK AFTER 25 DAYS? 👀😂

Me. And apparently, my QuickBooks simulation has been waiting for me to deal with its NEGATIVE INVENTORY. 😭🤣

QuickBooks really said:

“Oh, you’re back? Good. We have a problem.” 💀

So here I am, backtracking transactions, checking the Inventory Valuation Detail, and investigating where things went sideways.

Because apparently, in bookkeeping, you can’t just look at a scary number and say:

“Hmm… let’s adjust it until it looks nice.” 😂

Nope.

“A correction without an investigation is only a guess.”

And honestly, this is one of the biggest things I’m learning in my bookkeeping journey: the job isn’t just about entering numbers. It’s about understanding what happened, finding the root cause, checking the supporting documents, and then deciding what needs to be corrected.

Meanwhile, my accounting brain is still loading… 🧠⏳

But I’m back.
The simulation is back.
And hopefully, I won’t disappear for another 25 days. 🤣

One transaction. One investigation. One lesson at a time. 💻📊

QuickBooks Online Bookkeeping Simulation

Another milestone in my bookkeeping learning journey!

As part of my ongoing QuickBooks Online Bookkeeping Simulation, today’s focus was reviewing and interpreting the Balance Sheet to better understand how recorded transactions reflect a business’s financial position.

This is still a training simulation and a work in progress, but it’s a valuable opportunity to practice not only recording transactions accurately but also understanding the financial reports they produce.

Initial Financial Observations (Simulation)

📌 Total Assets: ₱326,150.00

The business currently holds:
• Cash & Cash Equivalents – ₱2,000.00
• Cash on Hand – ₱220,000.00
• Inventory Asset – ₱24,150.00
• Bakery Equipment – ₱80,000.00

📌 Current Liabilities: ₱25,000.00

The recorded Accounts Payable represents outstanding obligations that are yet to be settled.

📌 Owner’s Equity: ₱301,150.00

Based on this simulation, the business is primarily funded by the owner’s capital, with only a small portion coming from liabilities.

📌 Net Income: ₱1,150.00

The simulation currently reflects a positive net income, indicating that the recorded revenues exceed the recorded expenses at this stage.

Key Takeaways

✔ Every transaction directly impacts the Balance Sheet.

✔ Accurate bookkeeping produces reliable financial reports that support informed decision-making.

✔ Financial statements are more than numbers—they provide valuable insights into a business’s assets, obligations, profitability, and overall financial health.

Every simulation strengthens my understanding of bookkeeping and financial reporting, preparing me for real-world client work.

Day 2 of My Bookkeeping Journey 📚💙

Today was another productive day of learning as we explored QuickBooks Online and its role in managing business finances.

We covered:
✔️ Company setup
✔️ Adding customers and suppliers
✔️ Creating invoices and bills
✔️ Recording payments
✔️ Inventory management
✔️ Bank reconciliation
✔️ Taxation basics
✔️ Introduction to payroll

What I appreciate most about today’s session is seeing how every part of the bookkeeping process is connected. From tracking inventory and recording transactions to understanding taxation and reconciling bank accounts, each step plays a vital role in keeping a business financially organized and compliant.

Bookkeeping is more than just working with numbers—it’s about accuracy, accountability, and providing business owners with reliable financial information to help them make better decisions.

I’m grateful for the opportunity to continue learning and investing in myself at 42. Every lesson brings me one step closer to becoming a skilled and dependable bookkeeper.

Looking forward to applying everything I’ve learned in my upcoming bookkeeping apprenticeship.

Day 1 | Bookkeeping Course

Every expert was once a beginner.

Today marks my Day 1 of my Bookkeeping Course, and I’m excited to learn new skills that will help me grow as a Virtual Assistant. From understanding financial records to mastering bookkeeping systems, I know every lesson I learn today is another investment in my future.

Growth doesn’t happen overnight—it happens one lesson, one task, and one step at a time.

For a while, I thought I was starting over.

Every time I considered learning something new, changing direction, or exploring a different path, it felt like I was going back to the beginning.

And honestly, that thought was discouraging.

But lately, I've started looking at it differently.

Maybe I'm not starting over.

Maybe I'm simply building on skills I've already developed over the years.

The ability to stay organized.
To pay attention to details.
To communicate clearly.
To keep learning.

Those things didn't disappear.

They're coming with me into whatever I choose to do next.

The path may look different, but the experience remains.

And perhaps growth isn't always about starting from zero.

Sometimes, it's about recognizing the value of what you've already built.

There was a time when I thought being a beginner was something to avoid.

I wanted to be good at what I was doing. Comfortable. Familiar. Confident.

But lately, I've realized that growth often starts the moment we're willing to become beginners again.

And honestly, that's not always easy.

Starting something new means asking questions, making mistakes, and accepting that there are things you don't know yet.

For a long time, I stayed within what was familiar because it felt safe.

Now, I'm learning to embrace the discomfort of starting over—not because I have everything figured out, but because I believe there's still so much to learn.

Maybe being a beginner isn't a step backwards.

Maybe it's simply the beginning of a new chapter.
