TWO KINDS OF REPENTANCE
1. REPENTANCE FROM DEAD WORKS
Trying to earn God's forgiveness through our own religious works, self-righteousness, rituals, or human effort.
2. TRUE REPENTANCE — METANOIA
A genuine change of mind and heart that turns us to God and causes us to place our faith in Jesus Christ and His finished work.
We are not saved by trying to make ourselves worthy.
We are saved by grace through faith in Christ.
And let us be careful not to treat Christ's sacrifice as though it were insufficient.
Christ does not need to be sacrificed again.
His work is finished.
Our response is to repent, believe, and rest in Him.
STOP TRUSTING IN DEAD WORKS.
STOP TRYING TO ADD TO THE FINISHED WORK OF CHRIST.
REPENT. BELIEVE. REST IN CHRIST.
