DCWD ADVISORY: SCHEDULED WATER SERVICE INTERRUPTION

WHY:
Water supply has to be temporarily shut off in the affected areas to give way to the tapping of the newly installed pipeline to DCWD’s existing pipeline for the mainline improvement at Purok 11 in Sitio Tinago. Once completed, this will allow for the accommodation of additional service connections and improve water pressure.

Notes:
1) The would-be affected customers are advised to store water in clean and covered containers at least three days before the scheduled water service interruptions.

2) Water supply may be restored earlier if DCWD’s work goes smoothly or later if unforeseen problems arise.

3) DCWD conducts flushing after service works are completed. However, once water is restored, customers are advised to open all faucets and allow water to run for at least two minutes. Do not drink tap water immediately but if needed, boil water beforehand as safety precaution.

SUPREME COURT APPROVES RULE ON CIVIL FORFEITURE OF POGO-RELATED ASSETS

The Supreme Court has approved the Rule on the Civil Forfeiture of POGO-Related Assets, establishing the process for the government to seize properties, equipment, and proceeds linked to illegal operations of Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs), in line with the Anti-POGO Act of 2025.

Under the rule, the government may file a civil forfeiture case before the Court to recover POGO-related assets even without a separate criminal case, while still ensuring due process.

BAGUIO LANDSLIDE

Authorities have located all 13 people reported missing following the Guisad Surong landslide in Baguio City as of 2:40 a.m. on Tuesday, August 11, 2026.
