LVAA PARTICIPATES IN THE MSPC 📄✍

Selected Flambeau members proudly represented Lake View Adventist Academy in the Municipal Schools Press Conference (MSPC), the second round of the Campus Journalist Competition.

The conference brought together the top three winners from the district level in different individual events to compete at the municipal level. Representing the English category were Jeanny L. Minguito, Fedora Lexine R. Garay, Rhea Jean J. Baluran, Caressa Adria A. Lambiguit, Josheen May L. Galamiton, and Jana Kharrel R. Cordova. Meanwhile, representing the Filipino category were Michaela T. Dumapias, Khloue Urdaneta, Noel A. Omega Jr., Amierha F. Mateo, and Joyce Love T. Ingaod. Both Filipino and English categories includes News Writing, Editorial Cartooning, Editorial Writing, Sports Writing, Photojournalism, and Feature Writing.

The Municipal Schools Press Conference was a significant experience that enhanced knowledge, personal growth, teamwork, and resilience. Through this engagement, participants were able to showcase their God-given talents, strengthen their skills, and deepen their enthusiasm for journalism.

TLE, ICT, and FILIPINO CULMINATION | Photo Highlights 💻🇵🇭

Skills, creativity, and Filipino pride took center stage at LVAA’s TLE, ICT, and Filipino Culmination Program, themed “Empowering Healthy Minds Through Technology, Skills, and Filipino Pride.” The program featured an inspiring message from Ma’am Leonila S. Reyno, MSN, RN, followed by various student presentations showcasing their skills and creativity through cooking, fruit carving, digital poster making, singing, folk dances, Balagtasan, drama, and more.

Each presentation reflected the students’ learning, creativity, and appreciation for Filipino culture. More than a showcase of talents, the program gave students an opportunity to express themselves, build confidence, and use the gifts God has blessed them with.

A celebration of skills, creativity, and Filipino pride came alive at Lake View Adventist Academy during the TLE, ICT, and Filipino Culmination Program, themed “Empowering Healthy Minds Through Technology, Skills, and Filipino Pride.” From skill demonstrations and creative displays to singing, folk dances, Balagtasan, drama, and other presentations, students proudly shared what they had learned throughout the year.

With an inspiring message from Ma’am Leonila S. Reyno, MSN, RN, the program became a meaningful showcase of learning and talent. Every presentation reflected the students’ hard work, creativity, and the gifts God has given them, making the celebration a memorable one for the LVAA family.

LVAA Faculty and Staff Extend Sympathy and Support to Janog-Buhia Family

The faculty and staff of Lake View Adventist Academy (LVAA) traveled to Iligan City on August 24, 2026, to extend their sympathy and support to the Janog-Buhia family following the passing of Charlita Rosco Janog-Buhia, beloved mother of LVAA Principal Dr. Emerson Geneses J. Buhia.

During their visit, the LVAA faculty and staff rendered the last night of service to the bereaved family, offering messages of comfort through songs, prayers, and words from the Bible. Their presence was an expression of love, solidarity, and support during a difficult time of loss.

The final church service was held at the Iligan City Seventh-day Adventist Central Church on August 25, 2026, at 2:00 PM, followed by the interment service at Pryce Gardens, Sta. Felomina, Iligan City. Both services were led by Pastor Krisanto Rizada, Jr.

The Education Department of the Southwestern Philippine Union Conference (SWPUC), led by Education Director Dr. Alevir Pido and Associate Director Dr. Romy Lamputi, was also present to extend support to the bereaved family. Representatives from other Adventist educational institutions, including North Central Mindanao Conference (NCMC), Adventist Medical Center College (AMCC), and Mindanao Mission Academy (MMA), likewise joined in expressing their sympathy and support.

LVAA extends its heartfelt gratitude to AMCC, headed by Dr. Jimmy V. Adil, Jr., for generously providing accommodation and meals for the LVAA faculty and staff during their stay in Iligan. Appreciation is also extended to MMA, headed by Pastor Clifford Abejo, for the dinner shared with the group upon their return.

As the Janog-Buhia family continues to grieve, the LVAA community joins them in prayer and holds firmly to the promises of God. Though we mourn the separation caused by death, we cling to the blessed hope of the resurrection morning, when those who sleep in Christ will rise again.

“For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout… and the dead in Christ will rise first.” — 1 Thessalonians 4:16

May God continue to comfort, strengthen, and sustain the Janog-Buhia family during this time of loss.

District School Press Conference | Video Highlights

After a long time, the LVAA Flambeau gladly returned to the District School Press Conference, marking their participation in this meaningful event once again. Our student journalists showcased their skills in News Writing, Feature Writing, Sci-Tech Writing, Sports Writing, Radio Broadcasting, Editorial Writing, Copyreading, and Headline Writing in both English and Filipino categories.

More than a competition, this experience strengthens their critical thinking, sharpens their writing and communication skills, and gives them a platform to express their ideas and perspectives. May they continue to use their God-given talents to inspire others and share God’s goodness and love through the power of words. ✍️📰🎙️

District School Press Conference | Photo Highlights

Today, the LVAA Flambeau participated in the District School Press Conference for the first time in a long time. They took part in news writing, feature writing, sci-tech writing, sports writing, radio broadcasting, editorial writing, copy reading and headline writing in both English and Filipino category.

This involvement helps strengthen their minds and enhances their writing skills. Through this, they can express themselves and share God’s goodness and love through writing.
