In March 2020, I lost my digital marketing job cause of the pandemic.

Like many people at the time, everything felt uncertain.

Instead of waiting, I made a decision that changed everything.

In April 2020, I started freelancing as a WordPress Website Designer and SEO Specialist.

At first, it was about survival.

Then it became something more.

Over time, I noticed a pattern.

A large number of my clients were contractors and trades businesses.

And almost all of them had the same website problems:
❌ Outdated design hurting credibility
❌ Confusing layouts
❌ Slow load times
❌ Poor mobile experience
❌ Not showing up on Google
❌ Traffic… but no leads

That’s when it clicked.

The issue wasn’t just the website.

It was the strategy behind it.

A contractor website shouldn’t just “exist.”

It should:
✔ Clearly explain services
✔ Build trust instantly
✔ Make it easy to request a quote

That realization shaped my focus.

Today, I help contractors and tradies turn their websites into tools that actually generate inquiries.

5 years later, I’ve worked with businesses across multiple countries and have been an Upwork Top Rated Freelancer for 5 years and counting.

Same mission. Better ex*****on.

If your website isn’t bringing in leads, it’s not doing its job.

Let’s fix that.

I came across a video recently…

It was teaching people how to build and sell AI websites to
contractors.

Sounds helpful, right?

But here’s what stood out…

Someone in the comments asked about SEO.

The creator ignored it completely.

That’s a red flag.

Because SEO is literally what brings in leads.

This is the problem with a lot of these tutorials.

They focus on selling the service, not making sure the website actually works for your business.

And it gets even riskier…

Most AI-built websites:

❌ Don’t have proper support
❌ Don’t include real testimonials
❌ Miss local SEO
❌ Are hard to fix when something breaks

So what happens when your site has an error?

You can’t fix it.

You have to pay someone else.

Or worse, rebuild everything from scratch.

For contractors, your website isn’t just “online presence.”
It’s your lead generator.

And shortcuts usually cost more in the long run.

Most website problems aren’t about the platform.
They’re about how the site is built.

I recently redesigned a drone services website that felt unfinished and didn’t match the brand. The client was on Wix and couldn’t migrate, so we focused on structure, clarity, and conversion.

Here’s what changed:

✅Clean, brand-aligned design
✅Video hero section with clear messaging
✅Individual service pages with checkout
✅Strong calls to action across the site

The result? A simple but professional website that actually helps generate bookings.

If your site feels “off,” it’s probably not the platform. It’s the strategy behind it.

Your website should work like your best salesperson.
Available 24/7.

Clear. Persuasive. Easy to contact.

If your site isn’t:
✔ Answering questions
✔ Showing proof
✔ Guiding people to take action
Then it’s not helping your business grow.

It’s just sitting there.

Most contractor websites don’t fail because of traffic… they fail because of these simple mistakes.

After working with contractors and tradies for years, I keep seeing the same issues costing them real leads:

1. Hidden phone number
When someone needs a plumber, roofer, or electrician, they don’t want to hunt for your contact details.
If your number isn’t visible instantly, you’re losing calls.

2. No dedicated service pages
Listing everything on one page hurts both SEO and conversions.
Services like roof repair, replacement, and inspection should each have their own page so clients can quickly find what they need.

3. Outdated design
Homeowners judge your credibility in seconds.
If your website looks old, they assume your service is too.

4. One-page websites
Simple doesn’t mean effective.
One-page sites limit your ability to rank, explain services, and convert visitors into leads.

5. Half-finished websites
Broken layouts, missing content, slow loading…
These small issues quietly kill trust and push potential clients away.
At the end of the day, your website shouldn’t just “exist.”

It should consistently bring you calls, inquiries, and jobs.

If it’s not doing that… it’s costing you money.

SEO is not a one-time task. It’s an ongoing process.

Many business owners think SEO works like this:

Optimize the website once → rank on Google → done.

But that’s not how search works.

SEO is more like going to the gym or maintaining a garden.

If you stop, the results slowly disappear.

Here’s the reality:
• Google constantly updates its algorithms
• Competitors keep improving their websites
• Content becomes outdated over time
• Technical issues appear as websites grow
• Search behavior keeps evolving

And now we’re entering the AI-driven search era.
SEO is now just the foundation.

Today we also have to think about:

• AEO (Answer Engine Optimization)
• GEO (Generative Engine Optimization)
• Voice Search Optimization
• Optimization for AI search results

Search is evolving fast, and businesses need to stay updated to remain visible.
I also have clients who come to me with the same expectation:
"We ranked already. Do we still need SEO?"
The answer is yes.

You may be ranking today because of the SEO work you've done.
But your competitors are also working on their SEO and other strategies.

If you stop improving your website while they continue optimizing, you will eventually fall behind.
SEO success comes from consistent optimization, not one-time work.

That includes:

• Publishing and optimizing content
• Updating existing pages
• Technical SEO improvements
• Building high-quality backlinks
• Monitoring search performance
• Analyzing competitor strategies
Businesses that keep working on their SEO are the ones that stay visible long term.

If you have a WordPress website that needs redesign, optimization, SEO, or migration, feel free to message me.

I'm happy to take a look and share some insights.

Using a free Gmail address for business?

That’s quietly hurting your brand.
If your business email ends with .com, here’s the honest truth most people won’t say out loud: it makes your business look temporary, informal, or like a side hustle.

And yes, people notice.

Imagine this for a second:
You’re building a personal brand or a company brand, and your email is [email protected] or [email protected]
Before you even explain what you do, the trust is already shaky.
I always notice this with freelancers and even digital companies advertising on Facebook.

They have a website. They run ads. They look legit at first glance.
Then you see the contact email is Gmail.
That single detail instantly lowers credibility.
After working with businesses for years, this is one of the fastest trust killers I see.

Here’s why free Gmail is bad for business and branding:

1. It weakens trust instantly
Your email is often the first touchpoint with a potential client.
A generic Gmail address doesn’t feel established.
It feels personal, not professional.

2. You’re branding Google, not your business
Every email you send from [email protected]
promotes Google, not your brand.
A custom domain email matches your website and reinforces your identity.

3. You don’t really own your data
Free Gmail accounts belong to individuals, not businesses.
If someone leaves, your conversations leave with them.
Accounts can be suspended without warning. No real support.

4. Higher risk, lower control
Scammers commonly use free Gmail addresses.
With a custom domain, you can set up proper authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC) and improve deliverability so emails don’t land in spam.

5. Limited growth You can’t scale properly without emails like:
[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]

That structure matters as you grow.

The simple fix: Google Workspace You keep the Gmail interface you already know, but with your own domain.

More security. Better deliverability. Real support.
Low cost, high impact.

If you’re serious about your business, your email should reflect that.
If you need help setting up your professional email the right way, let me know. I’m happy to guide you.

💼 Becoming Top Rated on Upwork Is Not as Easy as People Think

Some people say it’s easy to become Top Rated.
They say you just need consistent clients.

No. It’s not like that.

I’ve been Top Rated on Upwork for 5 years, and it takes more than simply having repeat clients. It takes performance, discipline, and consistent high-quality delivery.

Only the top 10% of freelancers earn this badge. And keeping it is even harder than getting it.

✅ What It Actually Requires
90%+ Job Success Score (JSS) for at least 13 of the last 16 weeks
$1,000+ earned in the past 12 months
Active in the last 90 days (proposals or payments)
100% complete profile with updated availability
At least 90 days since your first project

This system measures consistency. One weak project can affect your score. One mismanaged client can impact your standing.

Why Many People Underestimate It

High Standards
Maintaining 90%+ JSS means delivering quality work almost every single time.

Time and Patience
You don’t wake up Top Rated. It takes months of solid results.

Strong Competition
You’re competing with skilled professionals from around the world.

Strict Platform Rules
Account health and professionalism matter at all times.

What Keeps You Top Rated

Deliver results, not just tasks

Communicate clearly from start to finish

Be selective with projects

Build long-term partnerships

Consistency is earned. Reputation is protected.

My Next Goal: Top Rated Plus

The Top Rated Plus badge represents roughly the top 3% of performers. It requires larger contracts and higher-value projects depending on your category.

That’s where I’m heading next.

And if you’re a client looking for someone serious about quality and long-term partnership, let’s connect. You might be the one who helps change that badge. 😉

🚨 The Real Catch With AI Website Builders
AI website builders promise speed, automation, and low cost. And yes, they deliver on that.

But here’s what most people don’t talk about.

There are countless tutorials online showing you how to build a website fast using AI. It looks easy. It looks smart. It looks efficient.
What many don’t realize is that it can actually hurt your website in the long run.

And here’s another issue.

When problems come up, support is often limited. There are very few in-depth tutorials for advanced fixes. If you face technical issues, custom errors, or SEO complications, you can’t easily ask for real help. Many AI platforms won’t respond personally to your questions, and you’re left figuring things out on your own.

They’re great for quick launches. Not so great for building a serious brand.

Let’s break it down.

1️⃣ Sterile & Generic Design
AI builds based on patterns. The result? A site that looks clean but feels like everyone else’s.
Professional? Sure. Memorable? Not really.
If your website looks like hundreds of others using the same tool, where’s your brand personality?

2️⃣ Limited Customization
The initial setup is fast.
But try adjusting layout sections, design flow, or unique visual elements and suddenly you’re boxed in.
You’re not designing freely.
You’re choosing inside a rigid template.

3️⃣ Rudimentary Functionality
AI builders are fine for simple landing pages.
But when you need advanced features, content-heavy structures, custom funnels, or serious e-commerce functionality, that’s where things start to fall short.
4️⃣ The Template Trap
Ironically, many AI-generated sites require heavy manual tweaking to feel right.
At that point, you could have started with a solid template or custom build and saved the frustration.
Speed disappears once revisions pile up.

5️⃣ No Real SEO Strategy
Yes, AI can insert keywords.
But SEO is more than text.
It’s structure, internal linking, technical optimization, search intent, local signals, content depth, and authority building over time.
AI does not truly understand your audience, competition, or long-term business goals. That still requires strategy.
6️⃣ Vendor Lock-In

Many AI platforms make it difficult to migrate your site.
You’re tied to their system, pricing, and limitations.
If your business grows, your platform might not grow with you.
So What Are They Good For?

AI website builders are excellent for:

✔ Personal portfolios
✔ Temporary or small-scale sites
✔ Testing ideas quickly

But they are not a replacement for strategic web design built for growth.

If your website is supposed to generate leads, authority, and long-term organic traffic, it needs more than automation. It needs real strategy behind it.

If you want an honest review of your website, message me. Let’s make sure it’s built for growth, not just speed.

🚨 Messenger.com Is Shutting Down in April 2026 – Let’s Clear the Confusion

Meta has confirmed that Messenger.com, the standalone web version of Messenger, will stop working for chats starting April 2026.

But let’s clear something up.
I’ve seen a lot of posts claiming that Messenger is completely going away. That’s simply not true. It looks like some people didn’t read the full announcement carefully, misunderstood it, or rushed to post for attention.

Here’s what’s actually happening:

🔹 What’s Changing?
Messenger.com will be discontinued – The dedicated website will no longer support chats.

Messenger desktop app is being removed – The standalone desktop application is also going away.

Messaging on desktop is not disappearing — it’s just moving.

🔹 Where Will You Message on a Computer?

You’ll access Messenger inside Facebook at:
👉 facebook.com/messages

So instead of going to messenger.com, you’ll use it within the main Facebook site.

🔹 What’s Staying the Same?
The Messenger mobile app continues to work as usual.
Users without a Facebook account can still use the Messenger mobile app.

You can still message on desktop, just through Facebook directly.
📌 The Bottom Line

Messenger is not being deleted. Only the standalone web and desktop versions are being retired.

If you use Messenger for client communication, support, or sales, this is simply a workflow adjustment, not a shutdown.

Always read platform updates carefully before reacting. Clear information matters, especially when businesses rely on these tools daily.
