"Dagyang" is a word equivalent for revelry. This Ilonggo term for merrymaking was first used by the late Pacifico Sudario, an Ilonggo writer and broadcaster, in an attempt to describe the lively and riotous celebration.

Up to these days, the coined term of Mr. Sudario is still used.
