I usually keep my head down and stay quiet about community drama, but a recent turning point has forced me to speak out. I have reached a level of frustration that I can no longer ignore. Recently, I dealt with a transaction involving a specific, non-public cyberface. This cyberface was never shared to anyone else, not even my fellow modders. After discovering the buyer was already sharing the file, I decided to cut off all future transactions with them. Despite this, they disrespectfully sent money to my account without my consent, simply because they had my number.
To be clear: I am fulfilling the current requests because the money was sent, ๐ฌ๐ข๐ด๐ช ๐ฉ๐ช๐ฏ๐ฅ๐ช ๐ข๐ฌ๐ฐ ๐ฌ๐ถ๐ฑ๐ข๐ญ, and frankly, I no longer care if those specific files are leaked. However, any future unsolicited payments will be ignored and will not be entertained, regardless of the amount. Lying to my face while I know the truth about the "leaks" is pathetic, and I'm done with the disrespect.
I have always accepted that leaks are a part of the NBA 2K14 modding scene since the beginning. I've seen it all. Yes, even the JBC Era. However, the rise of the Winlator community has amplified the toxicity by a lot. A surge of entitled and conceited individuals who lack basic respect for the craft. But up until now, I figured I could just keep modding because things can always be updated and the target market will always want that.. but that mindset isn't sustainable forever. ๐คทโโ๏ธ

Early 2017, I was just a curious kid who loved messing with every game I play. But life changes. While many modders claim to "quit" only to return because of their passion, there comes a time when priorities must shift. Work, relationships, and real-life responsibilities eventually become their true priority that is bigger than "passion". That's where they truly QUIT modding. With that said, 2026 will be my final year modding NBA 2K14. Iโve poured countless hours into this hobby. I take pride in the fact that I've contributed work that helped keep this game alive for as long as it has been. Nitrous V3 is seriously being considered, but after everything that has happened recently, the real question is: Will it ever actually see the light of day for the public? Right now, I don't know. The community's actions determine the future of my releases.
When every modder is forced to keep their work locked away in a private domain just to protect it, the community inevitably dies. I've seen it happen to countless other games. It is hard to imagine a new generation of modders rising up when the current environment is defined by Winlator-related disrespect and constant controversy. We all love updating our game, but itโs not hard to act with a shred of decency. Live a life instead of being a loser who feels entitled to disrespect others' crafts by leaking and reselling them. Value the creators while they are still here, because once we're gone, the scene goes with us.
Good evening, .
