In the past few years, we have heard a lot about branding and marketing. While they share some similarities, they also differ and offer distinct benefits and drawbacks.
Let's first examine what marketing is. The process of selling goods or services to customers is known as marketing. This includes the item itself, it's packaging, the cost, and other factors.
According to Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs, marketing encompasses all of these aspects of selling something to make it appealing to customers and, as a result, increasing its value.
Second, let's examine the concept of branding. Branding is a way for businesses to set themselves apart from other businesses in their industry by highlighting the values or characteristics that set them apart from other businesses in their industry space or category and make them desirable.
The functions of branding and marketing are distinct. While branding emphasizes long-term value, marketing focuses on acquiring new customers.
It is essential to keep in mind that while marketing can assist in developing a brand, it cannot substitute for branding.
