Surfing's Olympic debut brought together the world's best. In the women's competition, bronze was taken by Japan's Amuro Tsuzuki. And America's Carissa Moore took the gold, after beating Bianca Buytentag from South Africa. In the men's event, Australia got their first surfing medal, when Owen Wright won bronze. Japan took another silver, through Kanoa Igarashi. Brazil's Italo Ferreira became the first Olympic champion in surfing!

Fly into Manilla before catching a connecting flight to Sayuk Airport, this is the airport for Siargao island.

This is a surf area that is unrivaled in beauty and relaxation. Siargao is the Surf Capital of the Philippines and home to one of the Worlds best waves, the aptly named Cloud 9. There are m,any other surf break aroun catering for beginners and all levels
