No need to go to Van Vans terminal in Tacloban City.
Tacloban City airport to Padre Burgos which is (157.1 km) via Eastern Nautical Hwy/Pan-Philippine Hwy/AH26 (Abuyog to Mahaplag route to Sogod), but travel time is 3 h 9 min because of the better road condition of the highway (widening) from Tacloban City and the almost straight-line travel on less inhabited areas. Van from Tacloban City to Baybay City terminal, for an estimated fare of P190 for a 2 h (107.0 km) via Eastern Nautical Hwy;
then transfer to a Davao Metro Shuttle bus from Baybay City to Bato Leyte for an estimated fare of P80 for a 1 h 8 min (59.4 km) via Baybay-Inopacan Rd,
then proceed from Bato Leyte to Sogod SoLeyte for a fare of P40 for a 41 min (28.4 km) via Bato - Bontoc Rd, then at the Sogod terminal where you
then transfer to a jeepney/van/bus and ride towards Padre Burgos (1 h 4 min. travel time (44.6 km going southward) for a fare of P50.00.
Along the way from Sogod (44 min (31.0 km) southward towards Padre Burgos) in Brgy. Please tell driver to drop you at Barangay Lunsodaan, where the 3 more popular Dive Resorts are located, namely:

Driving further south 10 min (6.2 km) is the Padre Burgos Castle Resort in Brgy. Tankaan.

However, you may proceed on a van/bus from Sogod towards Pintuyan going southward (Panaon Island) which is a 1 hr. and 6 min travel time for about 64.3 kms. away when you want to dive in Pintuyan, Southern Leyte, where you can do underwater macro/supermacro photography while waiting for the appearance of whale sharks. The coral-rich waters around Panaon Island and in Sogod Bay in Southern Leyte attract a large number of whale sharks every year, typically arriving in October and staying as late as the following June (although the season varies annually depending on the southwest monsoon) - Wikipedia
