'Biyahe Ni Drew' Tips: Five things to do in Padre Burgos, Southern Leyte

For those looking for a relaxing Christmas vacation, try looking into Padre Burgos in Southern Leyte. The Visayan municipality provides a serene getaway with its fine sand and quiet surroundings. It is considered as a rising tourist attraction.

'Biyahe Ni Drew' shares some of the many exciting things to do in Padre Burgos and its neighboring places.

Biyahero tip #1: Visit the bird and fish sanctuary
Ten kilometers away from Padre Burgos is a bird and fish sanctuary in Macrohon, Southern Leyte. It is a marine protected area that has become a tourist favorite because of activities such as fish feeding and diving.
Biyahero tip #2: Go cave hopping
Barangay Cambaro is considered to be the cave capital of Southern Leyte. With over 100 caves, adventure surely awaits its locals and tourists. One of the most popular is Tabunan Cave.

Biyahero tip #3: Visit Limasawa Island
Limasawa is rich in history because it is said to be a stopover of Ferdinand Magellan when he was in search of the spice island. In March 31, 1521, the first mass in the Philippines was celebrated in the island.

Biyahero tip #4: Try their dried pusit
One of the main livelihoods in Limasawa is selling different kinds of pusit. Their products are brought to different places in the Philippines including Davao, Samar, and Manila. They are also brought as gifts to Filipinos in the Middle East.

Biyahero tip #5: Visit the SLPTEC
The Research and Extension Center (SLPREC) is another must-visit. It is where tourists can try hibe, pintos, tostados, and ginusang – fruits and sweets that can only be found in Southern Leyte.

At first it wash thought to be a different species to the previous post; but was only decided to be called as Ardeadoris egretta despite its pinkish shade due to the first photo dated July 31, 2003 from Solomon Island per Sea Slug Forum Rudman, W.B., 2002 (Dec 6).
