Every creative journey begins with a simple curiosity—the desire to try something new, even when you don't know where it will lead you. For me, that curiosity began when I was still a Senior High School student, simply dreaming and exploring the world of technology.
During SHS, one of our subjects included a seminar-workshop on editing. At first, I was just curious. I wanted to learn how designs were created, how ideas could be turned into visuals, and how technology could become a tool for creativity and expression. That experience became the beginning of something I never expected.
I started experimenting. I tried, made mistakes, learned from them, and tried again. I wasn't an expert. I was simply a student who was willing to learn.
When I entered college, I continued developing that interest. Little by little, through practice, experience, and countless attempts, my skills improved. Every layout became another opportunity to learn something new. Every mistake became a lesson. Every design pushed me to become better than the person I was yesterday.
Then came one of the most unexpected blessings in my journey. I became a layout artist for Educacion Primaria. Honestly, it still feels awkward to say because I never experienced the usual process of trying out, competing for a spot, or formally joining to become a member. Instead, one of my teachers saw and appreciated my skills and encouraged me to join. That simple recognition meant so much to me. I am also deeply thankful to my friends and classmates who pushed me, encouraged me, believed in my ability, and reminded me to keep going. Sometimes, we don't see our own potential until someone else believes in us first.
And today, I am grateful to celebrate another milestone in this journey—receiving certificates from Canva and TESDA, including my learning and training in graphic and visual design. 🎓🎨
These certificates are more than pieces of paper to me. They represent the student who dared to try, the beginner who wasn't afraid to make mistakes, the learner who kept practicing, and the dreamer who continued exploring.
✨ This is the story of Likha ni Daren.
It is not a story about being the best.
It is a story about starting with what you have, learning what you don't know, improving what you can, and believing that your small beginnings can become something meaningful.
To every student, aspiring artist, creator, or dreamer who thinks, "Hindi pa ako magaling," remember this:
You don't have to be great when you start. You just have to be brave enough to start.
Keep learning.
Keep creating.
Keep exploring.
Keep improving.
Because sometimes, the skill you are simply trying to learn today can become the passion, opportunity, and purpose you never knew you were looking for.
From a student dreamer, to an explorer of technology, to a layout artist—this journey is only beginning. 🎨✨
This is my journey. This is my creativity.
