It is the day Martial Law was declared in 1972, remembered for abuses of power and unchecked corruption. In 2025, it is also the date civil society groups chose to march against today’s corruption scandals.
The symbolism is deliberate. History and the present collide on the same day, raising the same question: 𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘴 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘥 𝘢𝘤𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦?
Whether you join the protest or not, the lesson is clear: corruption drains nations and history repeats itself when we forget.
