On Ninoy Aquino Day, we return to a line that has endured for decades: “The Filipino is worth dying for.”
The statement was not about an abstract idea of country, but a belief in Filipinos themselves: their dignity, their capacity to govern themselves, and their right to freedom.
This matters in any work meant for others. The names, symbols, and stories we build only endure when they are rooted in the people they’re actually for.
