Absolutely beautiful! A classy moment for Alex Eala, a Filipina tennis star as she continues to shine both on and off the court.
Proudly representing the Philippines! 🇵🇭

👏👏👏

𝗔𝘆𝘂𝗱𝗮 𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴.

How many disasters do we need to go through before we realize that 𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗮 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻?

Every disaster, it’s the same story:

Flood.
Evacuate.
Ask for help.
Receive relief goods.
Clean up.
Rebuild.
𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗮𝘁.

And somehow, we are expected to call this “resilience.”

But 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺𝘀 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻.

Relief is important.
Help is important.
𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁.

We need roads that don’t turn into rivers.

Drainage systems that actually work.

Flood-control projects that protect communities.

Public services that people can rely on.

And most of all, 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗽𝗲𝘀𝗼 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰.

Ayuda is not something people should be made to feel grateful for forever.

𝗪𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗮𝘅𝗲𝘀. 𝗪𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝘂𝗹𝗲𝘀. 𝗪𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸. 𝗪𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂𝘁𝗲. 𝗪𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲 𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸.

So let’s stop asking only:

“𝗦𝗮𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝘆𝘂𝗱𝗮?”

Let’s also ask:

“𝗡𝗮𝘀𝗮𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴-𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗺 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻?”
“𝗦𝗮𝗮𝗻 𝗻𝗮𝗽𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗮 𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝘂𝗱𝗴𝗲𝘁?”
“𝗚𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗮 𝗯𝗮 𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘆𝗲𝗸𝘁𝗼?”
“𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗼 𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗼𝘁 𝗸𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗴 𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶?”

Huwag tayong masanay sa mumo habang ang problema ay nananatili.

𝗗𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗻𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴.

𝗗𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗻𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝗳𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴.

𝗗𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗻𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝗯𝗿𝗼𝗸𝗲𝗻 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀.

And don’t let the word “𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁” 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗳𝗶𝘅𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲.

We can help each other survive.

But we should also demand a future where 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝘃𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁.

𝗛𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶 𝘀𝗮𝗽𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗮𝘂𝗹𝗶𝘁-𝘂𝗹𝗶𝘁 𝗻𝗮 𝗮𝘆𝘂𝗱𝗮.
𝗞𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗻 𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻 𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗴𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗮.

𝗧𝘂𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗴. 𝗠𝗮𝗴𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗼𝗻𝗴. 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗹 𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆. ✊🇵🇭
