Itโ€™s my first time running ads for myself, and honestly โ€” it feels good to hit your KPIs, no? ๐Ÿ˜Š

Iโ€™ve been running ads for clients (locally & internationally) for years โ€” generating leads, messages, and sales for their businesses.

This time, I used some free time to test the market for something Iโ€™m validating.

Especially now, when a lot of people are saying Meta Ads โ€œarenโ€™t working anymore.โ€

I keep hearing the same struggles:
โ€ข leads arenโ€™t coming in
โ€ข costs are higher than before
โ€ข campaigns just feelโ€ฆ stuck

So hereโ€™s what my current campaign looks like ๐Ÿ‘‡

Just yesterday, February 3, 2026:
โ€ข 228 messages
โ€ข โ‚ฑ2.87 cost per message
โ€ข โ‚ฑ8 - โ‚ฑ9 per lead

Now letโ€™s zoom out for a second.

Letโ€™s say you already generated 500 leads at โ‚ฑ10 per lead.
Thatโ€™s a โ‚ฑ5,000 ad spend.

Of course, cost per lead โ‰  cost per sale.
Results will always depend on the offer and conversion rate.

So letโ€™s be very conservative:
โ€ข product price: โ‚ฑ20,000
โ€ข conversion rate: 0.25%
โ€ข ad spend: โ‚ฑ5,000

Thatโ€™s still:
โ€ข โ‚ฑ20,000 in revenue from 1 sale (and again we're very conservative with the numbers)
โ€ข or โ‚ฑ15,000 left after ad spend (before other costs)
โ€ข roughly 300% net return on ad spend

This is not a guarantee โ€” itโ€™s just how the math works when the fundamentals are done right.

This is why I genuinely believe paid ads โ€” especially Meta & TikTok Ads โ€” are high-income skills that you can leverage and businesses actually pay for.

Lately, Iโ€™ve been seeing a lot of ads that feel likeโ€ฆ ๐’•๐’‰๐’†๐’šโ€™๐’“๐’† ๐’”๐’•๐’Š๐’๐’ ๐’‡๐’Š๐’ˆ๐’–๐’“๐’Š๐’๐’ˆ ๐’•๐’‰๐’Š๐’๐’ˆ๐’” ๐’๐’–๐’•.

Some of the ads that I've seen:
- International ads where the video is in Spanish, but the caption is in English โ€” and Iโ€™m in the Philippines (soโ€ฆ was the market research done properly? ๐Ÿค”)
- Ads that lead to a website with no pixel or proper tracking (you canโ€™t improve what you canโ€™t measure)
- Landing pages that are just a video โ€” no button, no CTA (so whatโ€™s the next step?)
- Ads with only one creative variation running (yes, I check the Ads Library ๐Ÿ˜…)

Iโ€™m not bashing anyone.

These are just patterns Iโ€™ve been seeing lately โ€” and honestly, theyโ€™re all fixable.

But thatโ€™s not really what I want to talk about.

What Iโ€™ve been thinking about is ๐’˜๐’‰๐’š people still run ads even when things donโ€™t look fully ready.

One possible reason: ๐๐š๐ญ๐š.

Sometimes, you run ads not to scale โ€” but to lอŸeอŸaอŸrอŸnอŸ อŸqอŸuอŸiอŸcอŸkอŸlอŸyอŸ.

For example:
You have a product.
You want to know if thereโ€™s demand.
You donโ€™t want to spend months guessing.

So you allocate a test budget โ€” say โ‚ฑ15Kโ€“โ‚ฑ20K or $300 - $500.
If you get sales and ROI, thereโ€™s demand.
If you donโ€™t, itโ€™s still data. At least you know.

That part makes sense.

But ๐ก๐ž๐ซ๐žโ€™๐ฌ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐œ๐š๐ฏ๐ž๐š๐ญ.

If:
your landing page isnโ€™t optimized
you donโ€™t have proper tracking
or thereโ€™s no clear next step for the user

Then youโ€™re not really testing the offer โ€”
youโ€™re testing ๐Ÿ๐ซ๐ข๐œ๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง.

And those are two very different things.

Running ads isnโ€™t just about launching campaigns.
Itโ€™s about making sure the entire path makes sense โ€” and if your goal is to get data, make sure that your tracking is set up properly too.

But when I look under the hood, I usually see the same thing.

They werenโ€™t actually running ads.

Sure, the squirrels might see it.
But squirrels don't have credit cards.

So when people say:
โ€œAds donโ€™t work.โ€

Theyโ€™re half right.

Buying attention without intent doesnโ€™t work.
