I saw a TikTok video where a mom captioned her post, “The more I do it all alone. The more I hate you.”

In the clip, she was trying to put her baby to sleep while feeding a toddler at the same time—clearly overwhelmed, exhausted, and alone despite not actually being alone.

It hit hard because this is the part people rarely talk about. You can be happy in a relationship. You can feel loved, supported, and secure before kids. But parenthood has a way of revealing truths you were never prepared for. It magnifies everything—effort, absence, teamwork, and neglect.

Choosing the right man isn’t just about romance, dates, or how good things feel now. It’s about who shows up when you’re running on no sleep, when both kids are crying, when you need help without having to beg for it. Parenthood doesn’t create problems—it exposes them.

That’s why choosing the right partner will always be different once kids are involved. Love may feel enough at first, but when real responsibility comes in, you find out who’s truly beside you—and who leaves you to do it all alone.
