SPIA Asia – Sport Industry Awards & Conference is a property of MMC Sportz Marketing, a UAE & Philippines boutique sports marketing agency providing marketing and communication services to rights holders, federations, and brands since 2013. The 6th SPIA Asia Awards this year will be nominations based rather than submission based and a voting by industry experts will replace the judging panel and t

he formal review of submissions. We believe that competitive awards with traditional winners are not appropriate this time around and we rather celebrate all industry responses and highlight on one exceptional initiative as a representative of all. 6th SPIA Asia Awards 2020 Public Service Hero of the Year, presented by Reethi Faru Resort, is awarded to Conor McGregor for donating 1.4 Million Euros towards medical supplies in Ireland.

McGregor donated another round of personal protective equipment to more than 170 facilities.

In total, he has donated more than 1.4 million euros' worth of medical supplies in response to the coronavirus pandemic

6th SPIA Asia Awards 2020 “Volunteering Service” Initiative of the Year, presented by Kooora.com, is awarded to Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One for manufacturing Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) using its own facilities.

The CPAP devices help coronavirus patients with lung infections to breathe more easily & were developed by engineers at the Mercedes team and University College London (UCL), and clinicians at UCL Hospital after a round-the-clock effort to reverse engineer a device that could be manufactured rapidly by the thousands.
It took fewer than 100 hours from the initial meeting to production of the first device.

SPIA Asia Awards 2020, Asia's annual awards platform to recognize and celebrate the achievements of the sports industry, is announcing the shortlisted nominations for the Sports Industry COVID Response "Initiative of the Year" for Public Service Hero.

In partnership with Reethi Faru Resort, we’ve looked for the service “Hero of the Year”, an individual who above and beyond went out of his/her way to directly contribute to the efforts towards society to tackle COVID relief.

The shortlisted nominations as per the expert panel are the following:
