MAMA CRIED ON VALENTINE’S DAY.
Today is just another day that mama smiled in public, but cried in silence.
She watched the posts. The flowers. The surprises. The “I’m so lucky” captions.
And for a second, she wondered what it feels like to be loved loudly. To be posted without hesitation. To be chosen without confusion. To be celebrated without asking.
Because mama is always the strong one. The understanding one. The one who says, “It’s okay, I don’t need anything.”
But today, something in her cracked.
Not because she envies anyone. But because deep down, she knows she gives more than she receives.
She is the type who will love you in your lowest season. Stay when it’s hard and pray for you even when she’s hurting.
And sometimes, she just wants someone to stay that way for her.
Valentine’s Day doesn’t hurt because of roses. It hurts because it magnifies what’s missing — the reassurance. The effort. The “I choose you” without conditions.
So yes, mama cried on Valentine’s Day because it’s just another day that reminds her of how much she wanted to be loved. 🌻
