𝐓𝐡𝐞 $𝟏𝟎𝟎 𝐁𝐢𝐥𝐥

I’ve read this story as a newsletter from my mail, and it taught me a very important life lesson.

There was a business orientation seminar, and one of the speakers started by saying...

“𝚈𝚘𝚞𝚛 𝚝𝚑𝚘𝚞𝚐𝚑𝚝𝚜 𝚍𝚎𝚝𝚎𝚛𝚖𝚒𝚗𝚎 𝚠𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚠𝚊𝚗𝚝, 𝚋𝚞𝚝 𝚢𝚘𝚞𝚛 𝚊𝚌𝚝𝚒𝚘𝚗𝚜 𝚍𝚎𝚝𝚎𝚛𝚖𝚒𝚗𝚎 𝚠𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚐𝚎𝚝.”

Then he reached into his wallet, took out a US $100 bill, and said to the crowd...

“𝚆𝚑𝚘 𝚠𝚊𝚗𝚝𝚜 𝚝𝚑𝚒𝚜 $𝟷𝟶𝟶 𝚋𝚒𝚕𝚕? “

Almost everyone raised their hands.

Then repeat his question...

“𝚆𝚑𝚘 𝚛𝚎𝚊𝚕𝚕𝚢 𝚠𝚊𝚗𝚝𝚜 𝚝𝚑𝚒𝚜 $𝟷𝟶𝟶 𝚋𝚒𝚕𝚕? “

Everybody raised their hands a little higher while some were shooking their heads...

This time in a bit louder, he asked the question again...

“𝚆𝚑𝚘 𝚛𝚎𝚊𝚕𝚕𝚢, 𝚛𝚎𝚊𝚕𝚕𝚢 𝚠𝚊𝚗𝚝𝚜 𝚒𝚝?!”

The crowd put their hands up a little higher than the last time, while telling the speaker in great excitement.

Then an old man dashed to reach the front stage and asked...

"𝙲𝚊𝚗 𝙸 𝚑𝚊𝚟𝚎 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚖𝚘𝚗𝚎𝚢?"

Still, the speaker acted as if he wasn’t there.

Until the old man reached up and took the money right away from his hand...

To which the speaker said...

“𝙴𝚡𝚊𝚌𝚝𝚕𝚢! 𝙻𝚎𝚝’𝚜 𝚐𝚒𝚟𝚎 𝚑𝚒𝚖 𝚊 𝚛𝚘𝚞𝚗𝚍 𝚘𝚏 𝚊𝚙𝚙𝚕𝚊𝚞𝚜𝚎!”

Then he continued…

“𝚈𝚘𝚞 𝚜𝚎𝚎, 𝚢𝚘𝚞𝚛 𝚝𝚑𝚘𝚞𝚐𝚑𝚝𝚜 𝚍𝚎𝚝𝚎𝚛𝚖𝚒𝚗𝚎 𝚠𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚠𝚊𝚗𝚝… 𝚋𝚞𝚝 𝚒𝚝’𝚜 𝚢𝚘𝚞𝚛 𝚊𝚌𝚝𝚒𝚘𝚗𝚜 𝚝𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝚍𝚎𝚝𝚎𝚛𝚖𝚒𝚗𝚎 𝚠𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚐𝚎𝚝."

“𝙰𝚕𝚖𝚘𝚜𝚝 𝚎𝚟𝚎𝚛𝚢𝚘𝚗𝚎 𝚒𝚗 𝚝𝚑𝚒𝚜 𝚛𝚘𝚘𝚖 𝚠𝚊𝚗𝚝𝚎𝚍 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚋𝚒𝚕𝚕… 𝚢𝚎𝚝 𝚘𝚗𝚕𝚢 𝚘𝚗𝚎 𝚘𝚏 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚊𝚌𝚝𝚞𝚊𝚕𝚕𝚢 𝚝𝚘𝚘𝚔 𝚊𝚌𝚝𝚒𝚘𝚗 𝚝𝚘 𝚐𝚎𝚝 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚋𝚒𝚕𝚕.”

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗻: the speaker represents the business/carrier opportunities while the $100 bill is its reward.

When we are given opportunities that life offers, most folks would say Yes then simply raise their hand and ‘want it.’

Yet only a committed few would actually dash to the front, reach up, and take it.
