Isang batang lalaki ang ligtas na ngayon matapos mabilis na rumesponde ang isang pulis na noo’y naka-off duty at agad siyang sinagip mula sa muntik nang pagkalunod sa ilog sa Brgy. Quimalabasa Norte, San Agustin, Isabel, nitong Marso 30, 2026, bandang alas-5:30 ng hapon.

Kinilala ang pulis na si Patrolman Raffy Molina, nakatalaga sa San Agustin Municipal Police Station. Ayon sa report, habang nagjo-jogging, napansin niya ang dalawang batang naliligo sa ilog na walang kasamang nakatatanda. Lumapit siya upang paalalahanan ang mga ito na umuwi na, ngunit napansin niyang hirap na sa paglangoy ang batang si alyas “Bugbug.”

Hindi na nag-atubili ang pulis—agad siyang tumalon sa tubig at iniahon ang bata sa ligtas na lugar. Sa ngayon, nasa maayos nang kalagayan ang biktima.

Pinuri ni Chief PNP, Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. ang ipinakitang malasakit at kahandaan ng pulis.

“Hindi kailanman natatapos ang tungkulin ng isang pulis. Kahit off-duty, nananatili ang ating responsibilidad na maglingkod at magligtas ng buhay. Ipinapakita nito ang tunay na diwa ng pagiging lingkod-bayan,” ani PGEN Nartatez.

Kaugnay nito ay pinaalalanan ng PNP ang publiko, lalo na ngayong panahon ng tag-init, na bantayang mabuti ang mga bata, iwasan ang pagpapaligo sa ilog o dagat nang walang kasamang nakatatanda, at siguraduhing ligtas ang mga lugar na kanilang pinupuntahan.

Ang insidenteng ito ay sumasalamin sa patuloy na pagsusumikap ng PNP na magbigay ng agarang tulong at proteksyon sto ay a mamamayan, alinsunod sa layunin ng Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman.

CYBER OPS IN ILIGAN RESULTS IN ARREST OF CHILD EXPLOITATION SUSPECT

The Philippine National Police (PNP) intensified its campaign against online child exploitation following an early morning cybercrime operation in Iligan City on March 14, 2026, aimed at protecting children from abuse and exploitation in the digital space.

At about 12:55 AM, joint operatives of the Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit 10, together with personnel of the Iligan City Police Office, City Mobile Force Battalion, and the PNP Maritime Group, implemented a Warrant to Search, Seize, and Examine Computer Data in Purok Kilumco, Camague, Brgy. Tubod, Iligan City. The operation resulted in the arrest of a 22-year-old male suspect known by the alias “Alodia Monastacio.”

The warrant was issued by the Regional Trial Court in Iligan City for violations of Republic Act No. 11930, or the Anti-Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children and Anti-Child Sexual Abuse or Exploitation Materials Act.

During the operation, authorities recovered several electronic devices and digital storage materials believed to be linked to the offense. An on-site digital forensic examination conducted by cybercrime investigators confirmed the presence of multiple child sexual abuse or exploitation materials, which led to the suspect’s immediate arrest.

The operation was conducted in coordination with the Department of Social Welfare and Development, the National Coordination Center Against OSAEC and CSAEM, and the Department of Justice Regional Anti-Trafficking Task Force.

It was also led by women personnel of the anti-cybercrime unit as part of the observance of Women’s Month and the continuing effort to protect women and children from abuse.

Chief PNP, Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., commended the operating units and reaffirmed the PNP’s strong stance against online exploitation of children.

“Hindi natin papayagan na gamitin ang internet para sa pang-aabuso sa ating mga kabataan. Mananagot ang sinumang sangkot sa ganitong krimen,” PGEN Nartatez said.

“Our cybercrime investigators are continuously strengthening their capabilities to detect and stop these activities. Tuloy-tuloy ang ating operasyon para maprotektahan ang ating mga anak laban sa online exploitation,” PGEN Nartatez added.

The suspect is now under the custody of the Iligan City Police Office for documentation and inquest proceedings.

This operation supports the PNP Focused Agenda under Enhanced Managing Police Operations and the broader directive of President Ferdinand R. 32 NABBED IN WEEKLONG PNP CYBERCRIME OPS; 58 CASES FILED

The Philippine National Police (PNP), through its Anti-Cybercrime Group (ACG), arrested 32 individuals in a series of cybercrime operations conducted from March 6 to 12, 2026, as authorities intensified efforts to protect the public from online threats.

Reports from the PNP ACG showed that 22 suspects were arrested in entrapment operations while 10 wanted persons were apprehended during the same period. A total of 58 cybercrime cases were referred for filing, including 39 regular cases and 19 through inquest proceedings.

To aid ongoing investigations, cyber operatives also implemented 33 Warrants to Disclose Computer Data to obtain digital evidence linked to the cases.

Meanwhile, cyber patrol teams conducted 545 monitoring activities across online platforms and completed 18 digital forensic examinations. Operations during the week also led to the rescue of three victims of abuse and one victim of trafficking in persons.

PNP Chief, Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., commended the cybercrime operatives for their continuing vigilance in safeguarding the digital space.

“Patuloy nating pinaigting ang ating pagbabantay sa online platforms upang maprotektahan ang publiko laban sa panloloko at iba pang cybercrime,” said PGEN Nartatez.

“Sa ating mga kababayan, maging mapanuri sa inyong online activities at agad i-report sa pulisya ang anumang kahina-hinalang transaksyon,” he added.

The operations form part of the PNP’s sustained efforts to combat cybercrime in line with the PNP Focused Agenda under Enhanced Managing Police Operations, supporting the peace and order priorities of the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., and advancing the commitment of the organization to Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman.

PNP ARRESTS SUSPECT FOR ASSAULT AND ALARM AFTER UNIFIED 911 ALERT

The Philippine National Police, under the leadership of PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., acted promptly to address a violent domestic disturbance reported through the Unified 911 system, a critical public safety service under the Department of the Interior and Local Government led by Secretary Juanito Victor C. Remulla Jr., ensuring the safety of the community and neutralizing potential threats. Officers quickly restrained the suspect and took the necessary actions to protect residents and maintain order.

According to the investigation, the incident occurred at a residence in Purok 1, Barangay Don Tomas Maddela, Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya on the night of March 15, 2026. The suspect, a 22-year-old male, reportedly exhibited aggressive behavior while armed with a cutter blade and attempted to attack residents and responding personnel, causing minor injuries to a family member who intervened. The suspect was arrested by personnel from Bayombong Police Station and charged with Direct Assault to a Person in Authority, Physical Injury, and Alarm and Scandal. He was informed of his constitutional rights under the Miranda Doctrine and brought to the station for proper disposition. Investigation is ongoing.
