Flo stepped into the hallway, glanced around at the plain white walls, and sighed. "This house needs doing up, Rube," she said, tapping her chin thoughtfully.

Ruby adjusted her apron and nodded in agreement. As they walked toward the living room past the staircase, Flo turned to her with a genuine question: "Any ideas how I can smarten up the place?"

They rounded the corner into the sitting room and immediately stopped dead in their tracks. Sprawled face-down across the bright yellow couch was Andy, completely submerged in a mountain of empty beer cans, dirty plates, and crumpled newspapers.

Without moving a muscle or lifting his checkered cap, Andy grumbled into the sofa cushion, "WHAT ARE YOU TWO LOOKING AT?"

Flo and Ruby exchanged a silent, deadpan glare. They both knew instantly where the home makeover needed to start.
