MANDATORY DRUG TESTING| As part of the provincial government's institutional policies, civil service rules, and anti-drug campaigns, college teachers of the Zamboanga del Sur-Provincial Government College (ZDSPGC) Dumalinao, San Pablo and Tigbao campuses underwent drug testing on Friday, August 7, 2026 at the Zamboanga del Sur Medical Center (ZSMC), Barangay Dao, Pagadian City in compliance with the order of Provincial Governor Divina Grace Yu through Provincial Administrator Jofe Suson, to ensure that all campuses operate within established legal frameworks regarding public health and employment standards.

The first batch of drug testing was conducted on August 4 and will end on August 12, with all teachers in 20 campuses expected to complete the drug testing on or before the deadline.

SCREENING FOR MR. & MS. INTRAMURALS 2026| The Zamboanga del Sur- Provincial Government College (ZDS-PGC), Dumalinao Campus successfully conducted the screening of 24 candidates for Mr. & Ms. Intramurals 2026 on Wednesday, July 29, 2026 at the ZDS-PGC campus.

The candidates are judged by the following criteria: Poise- 40%, Communication Skills- 40% and Personality-20%.

The selected 10 candidates will officially participate in the Search for Mr. & Ms. Intramurals 2026 at the Dumalinao gym on August 12, 2026.

WATCH| Governor Divina Grace Yu, the Founding President of the Zamboanga del Sur-Provincial government College (ZDS-PGC), during the general orientation of educators at the Pavillion Hall, Dao, Pagadian City on July 25, happily announced that the campus grow larger due to rising demand from the students and multi-campus expansions. She said that during the tenure of former Governor Cerilles, only one (1) campus was established in Aurora, and during the tenure of former Governor Victor Yu, it increased to 18 campuses and during her tenure, it has now reached to 20 campuses , with three schools still processing their applications with CHED. The ZDS-PGC has 10,050 students enrolled for the academic year 2026-2027.

Gov. Yu said this growth brings new opportunities, prospects and changes to student life.

She added that through the help of educators, the campuses are expected to help shape the moral, social, and ethical principles of the students and make them well-rounded and responsible members of society.

PRELIM EXAM | To evaluate their academic progress and mastery of subject matter, the BTVTED and ACT/BSIS students of Zamboanga del Sur-Provincial Government College (ZDS-PGC), Dumalinao Campus took the periodic and 1st prelim class examinations inside their classrooms under the direct supervision of their respective teachers on July 20-25, 2026.

The teachers strictly prohibited students from using cellular phones to reduce classroom distractions and prevent cheating during exams.

SSGO OFFICERS CONVENE TO PLAN FOR INTRAMURALS , ACQUAINTANCE PARTY| The Supreme Student Government Organization (SSGO) officers of ZDS- PGC Dumalinao Campus led by its president, Rey Debosora along with Efren Ace Bulong, the Dean of the Office of Student Affairs (OSA) and current Guidance Counselor, convened recently to organize intramural activities and Acquaintance party to be held on August 11-12, 2026.

The laid out structured events aim to promote sportsmanship, solidarity school spirit, inter-personal relationships, boost overall sense of value, and establish a sense of community among students.

IEC CAMPAIGN ON WASTE MANAGEMENT| To educate students about proper waste segregation, recycling, and environmental conservation, the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) through its officer-in-charge, Rey Boaquiña, hosted an information, education, and communication (IEC) campaign for students of the Zamboanga del Sur-Provincial Government College (ZDS-PGC), Dumalinao Campus on Monday, July 13 at the municipal gym.

Boaquiña said the students were encouraged to observe solid waste management by focusing on waste segregation and educate them on how to identify and separate items into explicit bins such as: biodegradable, recyclable and residual; and to implement practical waste reduction habits by prioritizing waste minimization through the implementation of the 3-Rs: reduce, reuse, recycle.

Dr. Joecelyn Sumamban, the Campus Administrator, is delighted with the IEC campaign hosted by the local government unit (LGU) through MENRO saying it will greatly help students in sustaining cleanliness inside and outside the campus.

The campaign is anchored in observing Republic Act No. 9003, or the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000.

LEADERSHIP BY EXAMPLE| Jonard Zerna, the Supervising Officer of Zamboanga del Sur- Provincial Government College (ZDS-PGC) urged the newly elected officers of Supreme Student Government Organization (SSGO) of ZDS-PGC, Dumalinao campus to strictly follow school rules and make themselves role models by effectively enforcing or advocating for policies and by leading the student body by example.

Zerna was the guest of honor at the Leadership Training organized by the Office of Student Affairs (OSA) on Friday, July 10 at the campus with the theme: "INNOVATE to ELEVATE; Empowering Leaders, Inspiring Change.

SSGO LEADERSHIP TRAINING| To empower student leaders by providing them with the fundamental skills needed to manage the student organization effectively, the ZDS-PGC Dumalinao Campus, conducted a 1-day Leadership Training for the newly elected officers of the Supreme Student Government Organization (SSGO) on Friday, July 10, 2026.

The topics discussed are as follows: Qualities of a Leader, Intelligence, Effective Communication, Leadership and Management, and Authority and Leadership.

The training was conducted by Efren Ace Bulong, Head of the Office of the Student Affairs/Guidance Couselor and Leah Jamadil, faculty with the supervision of Dr. Joecelyn Sumamban, the Campus Administrator.
