7ID HINIKAYAT ANG MEDIA NA LABANAN ANG FAKE NEWS, ISULONG ANG RESPONSABLENG PAMAMAHAYAG

PALAYAN CITY, Nueva Ecija – Nanawagan ang 7th Infantry (Kaugnay) Division, Philippine Army sa mga mamamahayag at digital content creators na maging katuwang sa paglaban sa fake news at pagpapalaganap ng tama, responsable, at mapagkakatiwalaang impormasyon.

Sa isinagawang Media Engagement and Fellowship 2026 sa Fort Ramon Magsaysay noong Hunyo 27, sinabi ni Assistant Division Commander for Operations Col. Racci Sotto na mahalagang gamitin ng media ang kanilang impluwensya upang itaguyod ang katotohanan, pagkakaisa, at pagmamahal sa bayan.

Ayon kay Sotto, malaki ang naging ambag ng media sa pagkamit ng Central Luzon ng insurgency-free status at umaasa siyang magpapatuloy ang matibay na ugnayan ng Philippine Army at ng media community sa pagsusulong ng kapayapaan at pambansang seguridad.

Binigyang-diin din niya na sa harap ng mga usaping may kaugnayan sa soberanya ng bansa, kabilang ang West Philippine Sea, kinakailangan ang pagkakaisa ng bawat Pilipino at ang responsableng pagbabahagi ng impormasyon.

Samantala, sinabi ni Lt. Col. Rogelio Dumbrigue Jr., Chief ng Division Public Affairs Office, na mahalagang magkaroon ng pagtutulungan ang mga lehitimong tagapaghatid ng balita upang mapigilan ang pagkalat ng fake news at misleading information sa social media.

Dinaluhan ang programa ng mga media practitioners at digital content creators mula sa iba’t ibang lalawigan sa Central Luzon, habang isinagawa rin ang oathtaking ng mga bagong miyembro ng One Fort Magsaysay Media, Inc. (OFMMI).

Mas pinagtibay ng 7th Infantry (Kaugnay) Division ang pakikipag-ugnayan at pakikipagtulungan nito sa mga kinatawan ng media sa pamamagitan ng Media Fellowship na isinagawa sa Fort Magsaysay, Nueva Ecija ngayong ika-27 ng Hunyo 2026.
Sa ilalim ng temang “Strengthening Partnership for Responsible Public Information and Strategic Communication,” layunin ng aktibidad na higit pang mapatatag ang ugnayan ng mga mamamahayag, content creators, at military communicators upang maisulong ang responsable at tumpak na paghahatid ng impormasyon sa publiko.
Pinagsama-sama ng Kaugnay Division ang mga media partners mula sa Nueva Ecija, Tarlac, Aurora, Bataan, Zambales, Pangasinan, at Bulacan para sa naturang pagtitipon.
Naging tampok sa programa ang pagpapakilala at panunumpa ng mga bagong miyembro ng One Fort Magsaysay Media, Inc., kasabay ng mga talakayan hinggil sa strategic communication at pamamahala ng impormasyon.
Sa kanyang mensahe, binigyang-diin ni LTC Rogelio A. Dumrigue Jr, Chief ng Division Public Affairs Office (DPAO) ng 7ID, ang kahalagahan ng pagpapatibay ng mekanismo para sa lehitimong pagpapalaganap ng impormasyon bilang bahagi ng pagsugpo sa pagkalat ng fake news.
Samantala, binigyang-diin naman ni Maj. Brian Malinao, Deputy Assistant Chief of Staff for Civil-Military Operations, ang mahalagang papel ng media bilang tulay ng institusyon sa publiko. Aniya, ang responsableng paghahatid ng impormasyon ay nakatutulong sa pagpapatibay ng tiwala ng mamamayan.

7ID DELIVERS FOOD AND LIVELIHOOD ASSISTANCE TO REMOTE COMMUNITIES IN GABALDON; ADVANCES PEACE THROUGH COMPASSION, SERVICE, AND COMMUNITY EMPOWERMENT
GABALDON, Nueva Ecija — Reinforcing its commitment to people-centered peace and development initiatives, the Philippine Army’s 7th Infantry Division (7ID), under the leadership of MGen Joseph Norwin D. Pasamonte, brought food assistance and livelihood support to geographically isolated communities in Sitio Mabaldog and Sitio Caanawan, Barangay Calabasa, Gabaldon, Nueva Ecija, on 27 May 2026, through its flagship outreach initiative, “Handog Malasakit ng Pamilyang Kaugnay.”
Conducted in partnership with the local government unit of Gabaldon and the 703rd Infantry Brigade led by BGen Eugenio Julio C. Osias IV, the outreach activity benefited more than 200 residents through the distribution of food packs and the provision of financial livelihood assistance to the Calabasa Farmers Association, headed by Mr. Michael Valdez. The initiative underscores the 7ID’s continuing efforts to bring government services closer to remote communities while strengthening local resilience, social cohesion, and inclusive development in conflict-affected areas.
Prior to the formal program, troops from the 48th Infantry Battalion under the leadership of LTC Kenny Rae C. Tizon conducted a safety briefing, facilitated team-building and entertainment activities, and presented an audio-visual presentation on the West Philippine Sea aimed at promoting patriotism, national awareness, and unity among community members.
The program formally opened with an invocation led by Hon. Rodil B. Valentin, IPMR, followed by welcome remarks from Hon. Isagani T. Sibayan, Barangay Captain of Calabasa. Representing the Mayor of Gabaldon, Municipal Administrator Ricardo A. Subido conveyed the local government’s appreciation for the Army’s continuing outreach efforts and support to far-flung communities.
In his message, Maj. Gen. Pasamonte emphasized that genuine and lasting peace is achieved not only through security operations, but through compassion, trust-building, and responsive community engagement.
“Peace is not only secured through strength — it is nurtured through compassion and service. By reaching remote communities, we strengthen trust, create opportunities, and reinforce our shared responsibility in nation-building,” Maj. Gen. Pasamonte said.
The activity reflects the 7ID’s steadfast support for the government’s whole-of-nation approach in addressing the root causes of insurgency through responsive governance, sustained community engagement, and inclusive socio-economic development initiatives aimed at empowering communities and preserving lasting peace in the countryside.
