Last week, I had the pleasure of co-presenting and discussing excellent customer experience (CX) in the digital banking industry. I showcased case studies demonstrating how companies practically applied UX strategies to exceed user expectations and create positive impacts on their businesses.

The event took place in a seemingly small and intimate room, where even the slightest sound echoed against the walls. Despite its size, the room was packed with amazing people, experts in their respective fields and occupying top positions.

Naturally, I felt intimidated and doubts began to surface. Imposter syndrome crept in, and I questioned why they would listen to someone younger and seemingly less experienced than themselves. However, I reminded myself that I was invited by someone I know and trust, which gave me the confidence to trust in myself.

They say that if you’re scared, you should seize the opportunity, so I did my best to reframe my mindset and focus on sharing my passion rather than presenting myself as an expert. While there may have been others more qualified than me, I embraced the chance to learn and grow.

In the end, it was a rewarding experience! The talk went great and I had the opportunity to meet and be inspired by some truly remarkable individuals.

In 2022, I had the wonderful opportunity to work on the SM’s ‘SMAC Surprise’ promotional microsite. Revisiting this UXUI project has been very insightful, and I'm excited to share the design process and lessons I've learned. 💡👨‍🎨

Sharing the iterative, grueling yet rewarding process from sketching hundreds of concepts to arrive to 1 final logo.

Laying everything out makes me appreciate the journey we had to go through. It was truly a collaborative effort and every discussions we had led us closer and closer to the final piece.

The process took quite a while. In retrospect, I needless took so much time on little things like polishing the sketches too early on the process, adjusted every pixel in illustrator so that everything perfectly lines up and having challenges on thinking of new ideas.

Hopefully by doing this a hundred more times I can refine the process a little by little ultimately creating a system that’s faster and outputs higher quality work.

I’m happy to share the logo & identity design we’ve worked on for Weave Collaboration Partners.

Weave is an architecture service outsourcing company in the Philippines that collaboratively, expertly and efficiently translates design concepts into detailed documentation.

The logo embodies an innovative approach to weaving, employing minimalist geometric lines and threads to meticulously form each letter of the wordmark. Drawing inspiration from the colors of the Philippine flag, the identity subtly features the harmonious trio of blue, yellow, and red hues. This design element is a nod to the company’s roots, as well as its commitment to quality and excellence.

The logo is the result of a collaborative effort & vision of Cathy Saldana, Nicky Santiago, Jose Lanuza, Mikael Benedicto and Mise Sebastian.

It was truly insightful to hear their vision, and it made me appreciate the remarkable level of detail, fluency, and insight they provided at every step of the process. It was amazing to see their passion and expertise shine through, and it left me with a huge admiration for the work that they do.

I would also like to thank and mention Frances To for beautifully designing & developing the Weave’s website, which you can visit at https://www.weavecp.com/

Yes! I was finally able to meet and learn from the man himself... 🙌

You could say that he was one of my mentors, although he may not have known it, lol. I've learned so much from him, as well as other renowned experts such as and . I initially learned about the 'business of design' from them, and from then on, led me to the path of starting my own independent design business. 🚀

I attribute a large part of my growth to them, and If you're like me, who's looking for ways to become more than a just designer, I would recommend checking their content out! You will get a lot of A LOT actionable advice to help you along career. Good luck to us! 🍻
