LANDING PAGE VS FUNNEL

Funnels and landing pages are both essentials in generating leads, however, they serve a different purpose in different stages of a customer’s sales experience.

Most people confuse one with the other, but in reality, there are fundamental differences between the two marketing tools.

Landing page:

A landing page is a stand-alone web page created specifically to welcome traffic sent by online advertising campaigns, including social media and email marketing initiatives etc.

Dedicated for a particular product or service with a single Call To Action(CTA).

Sales funnel:
A sales funnel on the other hand is made up of many web pages that direct a customer towards his final sales decision.

Each page in a funnel is an opportunity to sell additional products or services. YOU CAN HAVE MULTIPLE CTAS FOR DIFFERENT PURPOSES.

Which one to use for your business?

Choosing between a funnel and a landing page largely depends on your type of business or products/services.

If your business has a lot of complementary products and services, and you want to offer them in a single campaign, using a funnel would definitely the best choice.

If you only want your customer to make a single decision (maybe signing up for a seminar or buying a single product), a landing page would give you a best and quicker result.

STILL NOT SURE WHICH YOU SHOULD USE? Drop a query in comments.

WHAT IS A/B TESTING OF LANDING PAGE?

A/B testing is the method of exploring two or more variants of a page to see which one performs the best. The page traffic is divided into different versions of the pages to see which one works beneficially in terms of click-throughs and conversions. The best results are accomplished by carrying out a series of test in order to provide the right content to your visitors in an acceptable form.

WHY YOU SHOULD RUN A/B TEST?

For higher conversion rates:
If you’re not getting enough conversions, maybe you need to switch up your messaging, call to action, images, or something else entirely.

Understand more about your visitors:
You get to know what elements really click with your audience and which don’t. Changing just one word in your CTA may get you more clicks.

WHAT TO TEST ON PAGE?

THE LAYOUT:
You can put your copy on the right or left of the main image. This simple change may have a great impact on the visitors. Play with short or long copy, bullet points or paragraphs.

THE OFFER:
Changing up your offer will tell you a lot about what your audience wants. Maybe your visitor exchange their emails for an explainer video or an interactive infographic.

The call to action:
You can fine-tune your CTA like:
Background and font color,
Font style and size,
CTA copy,
CTA position on the page.

BENEFITS OF USING VIDEO ON YOUR LANDING PAGE.

Videos allow visitors to experience your message with little effort beyond an initial click. They help to convey ideas that images, copy, and animation can not—and they do it in a format that’s universally compelling. Study shows that marketers who incorporate video into their campaigns experience 34% higher conversion rates.

There are a few different approaches you can take when deciding what style of video you want to include.

Explainer Videos:
An explainer video tells your visitors what they need to know in a short, digestible format. Explainer videos allow you to show off your brand without forcing visitors to read a ton of texts. A 90-second explainer video may work best to stick visitors on your page.

Testimonial Videos: Videos are a great way to add customer voices to your landing page. It builds a strong resonance and helps to relate with real life problems and their solutions.

Video Backgrounds: You can replace your key image with a video background. Videos grab the attention quickly and help to increase the onsite time of the visitors.

How you can make your videos more effective?

Add a call-to-action (CTA) to your video. This can be permanently visible, or be presented at the end.

ARE YOU USING VIDEOS ON YOUR PAGE? Would love hear from you in comment section.

HOW PICK COLORS FOR YOUR LANDING PAGE?

Choosing a color scheme for a landing page is really tough. We get confused about what color scheme we should choose to design our landing page?

The background color ?

The base color(form, logo) ?

The CTA Button ?

Studies shows that people love simple colors and it is better to restrict to two or three colors to get best results. Color scheme is generated by combining primary, secondary and tertiary colors together.

Website like color.adobe.com presents a combination of colors to choose form. You can add black and white to create shade and tint for colors.

BACKGROUND, BASE & ACCENT
-------------------------
Your background is visually the biggest part of your post-click landing page. 60% of the colors should be dedicated to it.

Your base color takes up the second most visual space. It covers your header, footer, and your form. 30% of color in your scheme should be dedicated to it.

An accent color is meant to be used on the most important elements of your page to make them stand out. It should only cover 10% of your page.

CREATE YOUR OWN COLOR SCHEME:

Use the colors in your logo as a starting point to create a color scheme match your brand.

Next create a base color by figuring out what your logo displays well on.

Lastly, use color theory to decide on a background and an accent that will make your most important page elements stand out.

WHAT TO INCLUDE IN A LANDING PAGE?
It is a question that comes to our mind when we start designing a landing page for a particular goal. The description below may help you in answering your queries.
Components of a landing page:

1. A unique selling proposition (USP)
2. The key image or video
3. The benefits of what you offer
4. Social proof
5. A single conversion goal (or your call to action)

Unique selling proposition
--------------------------
Think like a customer. Try to point out the things your offer more than your competitors.

Tell a story to make visitors understand easily about the uniqueness of your product or service.

This is further broken down in different parts:

The main headline -

Your page headline is the first thing that drives attention of the visitors.

Supporting headline text -

Since your page headline needs to be short and catchy, use this as to describe more and to the point to create a bit of curiosity of what you offer.

Educate visitors -

Your visitors may be interested more if they some useful information, something they might be looking for about their pain point.

Try to relate your product or service to the actual problem that your visitors might be facing. And educate them on how your offer can solve their problem.

The closing words -

Texts to convert. Drive visitors to take action either purchasing your products or services.

Offer some extra if they purchase now. Create a sort of urgency.

The Key Image
-------------

Visuals always attract people first rather than the texts. It could be a static image or a video.

It should be a nice presentation of the product or service that you are offering.

Benefits
--------

More than your headline text it serves the purpose of describing in more detail how one can be benefited of this product or service.

Describe with bullet points with supporting image or video.

Social Proof
------------
Before making a buying decision people love to hear what others are saying after using this product or service.

Can be in the form of videos, text with image, case studies, review score on other platforms like google, yelp etc.

Your Call to Action
-------------------

Must have a single CTA button. It can be for submit a form or buying a product or course or to start a trail etc.
