Tabernaemontana divaricata, also known as the pinwheel flower, crape jasmine, Ceylon jasmine, East India rosebay, or Nero’s crown, is an evergreen shrub or small tree native to South Asia, Southeast Asia, and China. In regions where it cannot tolerate the climate, it is often grown indoors or in greenhouses for its striking blooms and lush foliage. When the stems are cut or broken, they release a milky sap—hence the name milk flower.
🌧️ “When the Rain Falls”
“He will be a shelter from the storm and a refuge from the rain.” — Isaiah 4:6
There are days when the sky feels heavy, the air turns cold, and the rain refuses to stop.
Rainy days often slow us down, interrupt our plans, and remind us that we are not in control.
But rain is never wasted—and neither are the seasons of life that feel gray, quiet, or uncomfortable.
In the Bible, rain is not only a symbol of storms, but also of blessing, growth, and God’s faithfulness.
“I will send you rain in its season, and the ground will yield its crops and the trees their fruit.” — Leviticus 26:4
Just as the earth needs rain to flourish, our souls sometimes need the slower, quieter days to be refreshed—to rest, reflect, and remember Who sustains us.
Rainy days remind us that:
1. God is still working, even when we cannot see it.
Clouds may hide the sun, but the sun never stops shining.
In the same way, God may feel silent, but He is never absent.
2. Growth happens in hidden places.
Seeds break open underground long before we ever see a sprout.
Sometimes God grows our strength, faith, and character beneath the surface.
3. Storms do not last forever.
“Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.” — Psalm 30:5
Every rainy season has an end. Light always returns.
🌦️ Prayer
Lord, thank You for the rainy days—both the ones outside and the ones inside my heart.
Help me trust that You are working even when life feels slow or cloudy.
Refresh my soul, renew my strength, and remind me that every storm has a purpose.
Be my shelter, my peace, and my hope. Amen.
🌈 Reflection for Today
What is God teaching you in this season?
Allow the rain to slow you down just enough to hear His voice.
Have a blessed Sunday everyone!
