3 ON 1 INTIMATE CLASS w/ INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS — DONE ✅

Two students flew in from India, traveling almost 10 hours to the Philippines for this class. One joined us from Korea and is currently working here in the Philippines.

Different countries. Different backgrounds. One reason for being in the same room: to understand haircutting on a deeper level.

This is exactly what I want our education to represent.

Not just teaching another haircut to copy, but teaching a system — how to understand shape, weight, balance, technique, and decision-making so the student can apply the principles beyond one look.

Seeing students travel this far to study with us reinforces something I’ve been building toward for years:

The Philippines can be a destination for world-class hair education.

And we’re only getting started.

To every local hairdresser thinking they need to leave the country to access serious education — there is world-class knowledge being built here too.

In our industry, we spend so much time chasing.

Chasing better skills.
Better clients.
Higher prices.
More views.
More followers.
More success.

Somewhere along the way, it’s easy to forget what our profession was really built for.

Giving.

Giving confidence.
Giving dignity.
Giving consistency.
Giving someone a reason to smile when life has been difficult.

I still remember one client who told me my haircut was far beyond what he could normally afford.

He said he just wanted to feel good one more time before undergoing a medical procedure that carried a high chance of not surviving.

I remember another client who sat in my chair during one of the darkest periods of his life.

After the haircut, he smiled.

It didn’t solve every problem, but for that moment, he felt like himself again.

Those moments reminded me that we don’t just cut hair.

We change how people see themselves.

So this time…

We gave back.

Mindoro is my hometown, and it’s home to many Mangyan communities.

For many of them, this was their very first professional haircut. Some were hesitant to even wear a barber cape because it was something they had never experienced before.

No luxury shop.
No mirrors.
No air conditioning.

Just a chair in the mountains.

Because everyone deserves to feel seen.
Everyone deserves dignity.
Everyone deserves the chance to look in the mirror and feel good about themselves.

Sometimes the most meaningful haircut isn’t the most expensive one.

It’s the one given with nothing expected in return.
