It is easy to complain.
“Wala na naman tayong pera.”
“Laging kapos.”
“Hindi na talaga sapat ang sahod.”

But here is the hard truth:
We say we have no money—
but look at how we spend.

We say we are broke,
but there is always budget for milk tea,
for unplanned online checkouts,
for weekend gala kahit walang ipon,
for tagay every afternoon.
We say we want to save,
but we do not track our expenses,
do not plan meals,
do not even bother to say no to things that drain our budget.

We say, “Wala na akong choice.”
Pero every choice we make at home—
what we buy, what we tolerate, what we prioritize—
those are choices.

The problem is not always the income.
Sometimes, it is the mindset that refuses to change.
The habits we protect.
The excuses we repeat.

You cannot complain your way out of poverty.
You build your way out.
With self-control.
With small changes.
With consistent effort.

So today, instead of saying “Wala na akong magagawa,”
ask:
“Ano ang kaya kong baguhin—ngayon pa lang?”

Because change does not start with blaming others.
It starts with more awareness and more discipline
for our own actions.
