I began December alone with Asin Tibuok of Bohol, a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage. The journey grew brighter as I continued with Baguio City, honored as a UNESCO Creative City, and now I close the month at Calle Crisologo in Vigan, Ilocos Sur, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Three UNESCO awardees in just one month! From food and cultural dance in Baguio to a kalesa ride through Vigan’s heritage village with my cousin and nephews—December became a tapestry of heritage, flavors, and family.

When everything seems to be going well—with a new house, a new car, and material blessings—the Lord reminds us that the greatest gift is still the gift of life. Just hours ago, I underwent a cardiac procedure. Though mildly sedated, I heard the doctors say one phrase that pierced through all the technical talk: “It’s D.I.—Divine Intervention.” Moments later, the OR echoed with clapping—it was a SUCCESSFUL procedure.

My deepest thanks to those who prayed with me, brought me and joined me at the hospital Kim M. Fabro Cristopher John Lejos Karl Canlas, those who sent encouragement, to my cardiologists Dr.Joel M. Abanilla and Dr.Eden Gabriel,and the Philippine Heart Center staff, and above all, to the Lord Almighty. As we grow older, we realize that while material blessings are worth celebrating, the reversal of illness and the blessing of life are far greater. May we cherish each day, care for ourselves, help others, and elevate how we serve the Lord.

The hardest art is not painted on canvas nor carved in stone—it is the trembling act of singing your truest emotions to those who can no longer hear you. To stand before a sea of faces—friends, acquaintances, strangers—and bare a song meant for Mama and Papa, is to bleed silently in public. And when it happens in the stormiest chapter of your journey, stranded in a place called home without a mother and a father, the weight becomes unbearable. In those moments, my heart longs to sprint home, to cry out loud in your arms… But the cruelest truth is that I can no longer do that now. “Pahinga muna, ako na’ng bahala…”
