He began while he was still a Business Management student at the Ateneo de Manila designing logos, posters and t-shirts for various school organizations and events. He was also a contributing cartoonist for the national newspaper "Ang Pahayagang Malaya (The Freedom Newspaper)" from 1981 to 1987. He joined McCann-Erickson Philippines in 1985 as an Account Executive for the Sprite Account. While dra
wing his comic strip at his table, he was discovered by the group's Division Manager and was asked if he was interested in moving over to the Creative Department. He readily accepted the offer and began working as a Visualizer and then Art Director for the Coca-Cola Group Account. He was subsequently tasked to handle visuals for the newly-acquired McDonald's Account. After his stint with McCann, he joined a restaurant chain, The Triple-V Group, in 1993 serving as Art Director with rank of Asst. The Triple-V Group owns and operates Kamayan Filipino Restaurant, Saisaki Japanese Restaurant and Dads Restaurant. It also used to have Islands Fisherman Restaurant and Triple-V Express. In 1994, he left to pursue film studies in New York University's School of Continuing Education. He rejoined Triple-V for a few more years upon his return and simultaneouly directed videos for a number of companies such as Coca-Cola, Fil-Estate, Jollibee, Bank of Commerce, Unilab and the Commission on Elections. He also did some print materials for the Philippine Air Force, Subic Yacht Club and many more. Some of his works have been recognized by the Advertising Congress and the Anvil Awards. In 1998, he was appointed by President Joseph Estrada to sit in the board of Radio Philippines Network (RPN-9). He served as a Board Member until February 2001. He was asked to be Creative Consultant for Gourmet Farms in 2001. He designed the new corporate identity and packaging design for Gourmet's. At the same time, he was also Creative Consultant of Avellana & Associates, an advertising firm. It was during this stint that he designed the visual peg for the Department of Tourism's "Wow Philippines" logo. In 2003, he formed White Stone Creatives with a former colleague in McCann. They counted Coca-Cola, URC, JG Summit, Waterfront Hotels, Pfizer, DHL etc. as their clients. Unfortunately, the company folded up in 2008. In 2006, he was invited by a classmate to form ActivAsia Inc., a trade activation agency that has now branched out to include Media Services, Marketing Services, Tourism & Sports Marketing and Entertainment. He is currently Chief Dreammaker of the Beyond Group. ActivAsia is handling accounts such as Coca-Cola, Nestle, Unilab, Smart Telecom, SAFI, Baguio Centennial, Unilever and many more. He is also involved with advocacy companies such as Microventures, the company behind Hapinoy, and Advocom Asia. He is a board member of these companies. Some of the advocacy logos he has designed are the Ninoy and Cory Aquino Center for Leadership, Ninoy and Cory Aquino Foundation, PinoyMe, Hapinoy, Alay sa Bansa (ALAB), LEAD Institute of Sport and The Formation and Renewal Centre at Sta. He has also done some political materials some of which are logos for Ramon Mitra's "Smile", Joseph Estrada's "Erap para sa Mahirap", Renato de Villa's "Barangay De Villa", Fernando Poe, Jr.'s "Lawyers for FPJ" and most recently, some designs for President Noynoy Aquino's campaign. He has designed numerous logos for his alma mater, the Ateneo de Manila, including the eagle swoosh, the 140th Year logo, the 2008 Car Sticker and its Sesquicentennial 150th Year logo. He was also Vice President of the family-owned Bagoong Club Resto. He is currently President and CEO of ArribaDigital.
