THE BEGINNING
In 1977, Belen delos Santos, a nurse and homemaker, saw that beautifully crafted invitations and business cards were hard to come by. Blessed with an attention to detail and passion to create, she started a simple letter press printing service. He expanded the little known printing press by investing in offset machines that were able to print a variety of products. OUR GROWTH

e late 80’s, computers were slowly influencing the printing industry, quitely creating a new mechanism for design: desktop publishing. Taking advantage of the new technology, the company decided to specialize in barcoded hangtags. At that time, there was no such software available locally to create scannable barcodes. Through ingenuity and the newfound capacity of desktop publishing, Belsant Printers was able to become one of the pioneer printers to produce such barcodes. Coinciding with the boom in the garment manufacturing and export industry, we became the company that supplied the demand for quality scannable barcodes. Our clientele included Osh Kosh B’ Gosh, a leading American children’s apparel. By the early 90’s we were easily supplying 80% of Osh Kosh B’ Gosh hangtags worldwide. Later on, we started to export hangtags for Walmart, Healthex, Liz Claiborne and American Eagle among other brands. Our experience with working with international clientele helped us gain the interest of the local market. Locally we supplied hangtags for Jag, Levis, Maybelline, L’oreal and Cinderella. AT PRESENT
Today, after more than 30 years of printing, we are still constantly diversifying our printed products to cater to the now more sophisticated needs of companies. In the midst of this, the company has now been renamed Big Fat Printing Press. Still operated by Jason, together with his wife Catherine, the name Big Fat Press represents a company that is literally full of experience
and services to offer. Our clientele now include, SM Corporation, Ateneo de Manila University, ABS-CBN Corporation, Asia Pacific Primeline, First Metro Bank Asset Management, Republic Chemical, Phil AmAsset Management, Techno Med, H&F Retail Concepts, Inc. and more. Througout these years, we’ve managed to hold on to age old values of hard work and professionalism. Big Fat Press runs on a 24 hour shift to meet the toughest deadlines and expedite deliveries all over the country. We also take deep pride in the relationships we build with our clients, serving as constant motivation to provide them the best work. Though we may have confidence in these longstanding ethos and service, they are not enough in today’s climate. The extremely rapid pace of technology has completely changed the printing industry. We embrace this shift to digital by falling back on the values upon which Belen founded this on: the passion to create quality goods. We’ve noticed that many young designers today are not knowledgeable enough to produce work suited to its much needed offset printing counterpart. Equipped with expertise in the latest editing and illustrating software, we are now well versed in the language of both design and printing. This provides us the capacity to bridge that gap and further expand our service to offer the complete package
